I went to the kitchen, and you know what I saw?

“Are you burning our house down, Ate Vane?” he said while holding the fire extinguisher.
“Sorry! I forgot! I didn’t turn the alarm on..” looking apologetic to him.
“Geez, it’s your daughter’s birthday, ate.. Paano naman kakainin ng pamangkin ko ang nasunog mong cake?” he said to me.
“A-Ahm.. Itatapon ko na lang, at bibili na lang ako sa labas..” I answered. “..Kaysa naman magaksaya ako ng ingredients dito. I’m an awful baker, Ryan.. and you know that..and I want to buy a gift for her.” (Ryan, my husband’s step-brother. Wala ang asawa ko ngayon sa bahay, nasa States siya for some reasons, I don’t know. And Sheena is probably in school right now. So me and Ryan and of course, our guards are here.)
