Here we go.
"We support you no matter what."
"But we're just wondering- no, we're confused as to why.. boxing?"
Violet was standing in front of us as we were asking her questions on why she all of a sudden wants to take boxing classes.
The girl is somewhat a non-fighter, nor is she aggressive in any sense. She has never been in an actual fight, and pillow fights don't count, so it threw us off a little.
"I just.. I need excitement in my life. I want to experience different things. Learn things that get me out of my comfort zone." She spoke. "You said you support me no matter what."
"We did. We do." Hayden said as he was sitting on the bed with me. "But.. we're just caught off guard, that's all."
Violet nods as she looks at us before smiling. "I promise that it'll be ok if that's what you're worried about."
"Boxing is some serious shit." Hayden said. "Are you sure you want to try it?"
"I already signed up for lessons."
"How much?" I ask.
She looks at the paper in her hands. "Two fifty a week."
I look at Hayden as he looks over at me and all I could do was shrug. I wasn't sure what to say cause if this is what she wanted to do then we couldn't stop her.
The girl is twenty two years old. She can make her own decisions about what she wants to do with her life.
We all can now since we're adults.
When we were in high school, we didn't have the freedom we have now. We still lived with our parents and were obeying their rules, listening to whatever they said for us to do.
But we don't have to now.
"Ok, Violet." Hayden said. "Do you, girl. Go kick some ass."
Nodding, I smiled at her as she smiled back before walking to us and wrapping her arms around us both. "I love you guys so much. Thank you."
I patted her back before she leans away and I look at Hayden. I look towards Violet as she was walking towards her phone that was on the dresser before picking it up.
"I'm still nervous." Hayden said.
I look at him before nodding. "Me too but we have to support her."
If this is what Violet wants to do then we're behind her a hundred and two percent.
No matter what.

Later that day, Violet had to do something at the boxing center that she signed up for. She brought us along and was telling us that she was super nervous and excited at the same time.
"I want you both to always be there when I'm training." She looks over at Hayden before looking back at me in the backseat.
Nodding, I gave her a thumbs up. "No problem. But you do know I work."
"You're a photographer for the journal." She looks at me through the rearview. "You work four hours a day, not even a full week and no weekends. I think you can manage to support me."
Hayden looks back at me before smiling but I shook my head. I knew she wanted us to be there for her so I had to keep my mouth shut before I started something that was never going to end.
Violet has this tendency where she wants to argue for no reason, be right all the time and it gets annoying sometimes but I've dealing with it since the beginning of high school.
