It was getting closer to Violet's fight and I knew she was ready.
Only a few more days .
I could tell she was nervous but also ready, which made me even more ready for her.
She was going to do great.
Hayden and I tell her that everyday.
Even juggling work, she's managing to keep training and doing the best she can.
Everyday we went to support her, Diamond was no longer there. I was looking for her at one point and didn't see her, thinking she was in the back or coming in late.
But she never came.
It worried me a little cause I remember her telling Michael that she was going to quit if she didn't find a babysitter.
But that shouldn't be the case since she knows I'll babysit for her.
She just hasn't asked me.
Since I last babysat for her.
The day of the fight was a little nerve-wrecking.
It's been a few days since Diamond has been at the gym and Violet was definitely more nervous cause it was the big day.
She was taking some breathing techniques as we were sitting in the locker room. I was leaning down, telling her it was ok as she was sitting on the bench and breathing a lot.
"Violet, you got this."
"How were you the day you fought Diamond?"
I look at her as her eyes were closed and she kept breathing. I thought about that day and was about to speak but someone spoke for me.
"She was nervous and didn't want to fight."
Diamond walked in before stopping. I saw her crossing her arms as Violet looks over at her and I stared at her as well.
"But she stayed during the fight and beat me." Diamond said as her eyes were on me before looking at Violet.
She came over and sat on the bench, both legs on either side as she was looking at Violet. "It's ok. If you're nervous then it's normal. Just give it your best."
Looking at her, I was glad she came to talk to Violet. I knew she needed some guidance and coming from a professional boxer was a huge thing.
"Thanks." Violet smiles. "I'm so nervous but I know I got this."
"That's more like it." Diamond said. "I knew you were thinking hard about this but don't. You don't think when it comes to fighting. You just go head first."
Violet nods before looking down at me and smiling. I smiled back before standing up and helping her stand before seeing Diamond stand as well.
"You got this." Diamond said before walking away.
When she left the locker room, I look at Violet as she breathes in before looking at me. "I'm ready."
I smile. "That's my girl."
We both walked out of the locker room a few moments later and everything was loud.
It was like Deja vu.
I followed Violet to her trainer before hugging her. I found Hayden on the bleachers and sat with him as I looked around at everyone.
"Insane." Hayden said.
Nodding, I knew this was big. It felt good to be on this side of the fence now instead of out there cause I knew that was a one time thing.
I knew exactly how Violet felt.
