I had work the rest of the week so I couldn't go to the gym with Violet and didn't get to see Diamond at all.

Which I was ok with.

All this shit was rising in my stomach and I didn't feel good.

The whole thought of this date was making me sick cause I knew I was going to screw something up like I always do or make an idiot out of myself like I always do in front of her.

I can't even think around her.

That's why I blurt shit out.

Diamond was different than anyone else and it was hard to focus around her or even talk to her. I couldn't explain the shit that she had me feeling cause it was unexplainable.

Trying to tell that to my friends were hard to do.

Hayden would just smile at me and tell me all this shit about me being in love, which isn't true.

Violet would smile, pat me on the back and give me a talk like mom's do.

It was torture.

I kind of wish I never had this fascination with her.

But something pulled me in.

"I'm disappointed in you, Journey." I look over to see my boss leaning on the doorway. "I thought you were my best photographer and would actually get a story for me."

"I'm sorry." I sigh. "It's just-"

"But you got something better."

Looking at her, I gave her a confused look. "What?"

She tossed a paper down in front of me and I saw myself on the headline. I saw Diamond getting knocked out and the bolding lettering read: Journey Rielly beats all time professional boxer, Diamond McKay.

"That is the best story." She smiles. "And having you as my photographer also that made headline news is absolutely amazing."

"Who took this?" I ask.

She smiles. "You did."

"I did?"

"You handed it in, laid it on my desk with a sticky note that had your name on it."

I gave her a confused look before looking back at the paper. "Um,"

"I know you had someone else to take pictures but it doesn't matter. This," She picks up the paper. "is gold."

She kept congratulating me before walking out and leaving me confused.

I don't remember asking someone to take pictures and I sure as hell don't remember putting the pictures on her desk.

Leaning back in the chair, I send Violet a text and asked her if she took any pictures and sent them to my job.

I was confused.

After a moment of getting back to work, Violet texts back and said she didn't. She never had my camera or anything so it left me even more confused as to who took those pictures and sent them here.

Hayden didn't cause I asked him after I texted Violet but those were the only people I could think of.

My boss said there was a sticky note attached to it and it made me curious as to what that note said.

I got up from my desk a few moments later, walked down the hall and went into my boss' office. I saw her on the phone then she held up her finger at me as I stood in front of her desk.

After she hung up, she smiled at me before folding her arms on her desk. "What's up Journey?"

"Um, can I see the note I put on the pictures that I left?"

"Of course." She grabbed the note before handing it to me.

I looked down at it and instantly knew this wasn't my handwritting.

But the note read: Friday Night, I kicked Diamond McKay's ass. Here's proof and a new story. - Journey Rielly.

Furrowing my eyebrows, I was about to hand the note back to her but pulled back before I did. "Can I keep this?"

"Of course. Anything wrong?"

"No. Just.. living proof, I guess."

She smiles. "Be proud. That story will be headline for a long time."

Nodding, I walked out of the office back to mine. I was still so confused as to who sent this in and claimed that I did it.

It didn't make any sense.

-

"Do you think Diamond did it?"

"Why would she do that? She's a professional. She hates losing." Violet explained as we were sitting at the table that night.

I told them about this note and it was in the back of my mind the whole day.

Violet looked it over and Hayden also looked at it, but they didn't know the handwritting and they were just as confused as I was.

"If Diamond did do this," I look at Hayden and Violet. "it makes no sense. Like you said, why would a professional boxer want pictures of someone knocking them out?"

"And plus," Hayden started. "you didn't tell her where you worked.. did you?"

"No. Which is even more confusing. Whoever took these pictures, knew where I worked and wanted to expose Diamond."

Violet sat down and looked at me. "That's it."

"What?" Hayden asks.

"Someone wanted Diamond exposed. They wanted proof that she got beat so they took pictures and sent them in."

"But they claimed I took them."

She shrugs. "Maybe they knew you worked for the journal and wanted you to get praised for beating her and getting dirt on her."

"What dirt?"

"That she can lose."

I look at her than at Hayden as he had a confused look as well. "Who would want Diamond to lose and expose her?"

Violet shrugs. "An enemy."

"But who knows where Journey works and would send pictures to her job?"

As they were talking back and forth, this whole situation was confusing me. I didn't know who was behind all this or who would even want to do this to Diamond.

Yeah, she lost but she's not taking as hard as I thought she would.

I didn't even really want to beat her.

A small part of me wanted her to knock me out but I knew the consequences that came from that.

I had a choice and I made it.

But this was still very much in my mind.
