The next few days were torture.

Lance had me work out every morning before the sun came up and it was literally killing me.

I never knew this type of training came with boxing but I was sure as hell wrong when I had to experience it myself.

I had to run miles up and down every street in town, never stopping and constantly getting yelled at by Lance.

He was running next to me, making sure that I didn't slack off and it was like I was close to death every single time.

He told me that this type of training was what every boxer had to experience.

It was literally torture.

I had to pull a car with a rope, which was insane but I was shocked when I actually did it.

Lance kept telling me that building up strength is the most important thing about training.

I understood that but I was on the verge of dying too.

After all the shit he put me through, he said it was time to actually start boxing. I was happy that the worse part of it was over but I wasn't sure what was waiting for me.

"Punch harder!"

Lance was yelling at me and it seems as though he's been doing that all week.

"You have punch harder, Journey!"

"I'm trying!" I yell. "This bag is like a brick and I can't hit it hard."

He looks at me before nodding and walking around. He kept telling me that I needed to have my stance right and all this shit that I couldn't understand.

It was too much.

"I'm just going to give up."

Lance stopped and looked at me for a moment. "You're going to do what? No. You're not giving up."

"What's the point? It's not like I'll have a chance of beating her anyways." I shook my head before walking to the wall and sitting down.

Lance was right behind me as he sat next to me as I opened a water bottle. I sighed as I took a sip before leaning my head against the wall.

"I can't do this."

"You're saying that cause it's hard. It's only hard cause you're making it hard." He looks at me. "You can do anything you set your mind to. I know you want to beat Diamond and maybe there's a small chance you can at least knock her down-"

"So, you're saying that even after all the shit I do, I still won't beat her?"

He looks at me and slightly smiles. "Listen.."

"I know." I sigh. "She's a professional boxer." I shook my head. "I don't even know why I did this."

"Don't give up."

Looking at him, I shook my head. "I'm not.. yet anyways."

"Come on." He got up and held his hand out where I could grab it.

After I got up, we walked back to the punching bags and this time I gave it all I got. I focused and was concentrating on nothing but the bag and punching the shit out of it.

Lance was yelling at me, keeping my adrenaline pumping and it felt good. I was actually hitting the bag hard and I could feel sweat dripping down from my face.

"You can see your muscles in your stomach." Lance pointed out.

Looking down, I was wearing nothing but a sports bra and shorts. I could see the sweat dripping down my stomach and my muscles were flexing out.

"Never knew I had those."

Lance laughed at that and we continued to do more rounds.

I was having the time of my life as I was letting all my anger and frustrations out.

All of them were towards Diamond anyways.

She was making me angry cause of all the embarrassment she put me through and it seems as though she was targeting me for no reason.

I wasn't sure what her problem was but I really wanted to knock some shit out of her.

Not sure if that was even a possibility.

Lance told me that it was impossible.

Violet told me it was impossible.

Everyone had no faith in me and that should be enough to have faith in myself.

"Nobody else's opinions matter." Lance said as he was walking around me. "If someone says you can't do something then turn around and show them. Show them that you have faith in yourself when nobody else has faith in you."

Hitting the punching bag was making me feel better.

I was in the zone and all I had to do was continue being in the zone to beat Diamond.

"It's about your body." Lance was saying. "It's not in your head. It's in your body. Your self being. Let everything out and let it loose."

I hit the punching bag, over and over again.

Letting everything out.

"Ah!" I screamed as I kicked it as hard as I could and saw it swing before Lance grabbed it.

He looks at me and smiles. "Alright then."

I stood there and watched the bag for a moment, knowing that I just released something I never knew I had inside.

"You're acting like Diamond now." He smiles. "And that's a good thing."

"You train with her?"

He chuckles. "She's my coach."

I stare at him as he was looking up at the punching bag. "What? Why didn't you tell me?"

"You didn't ask." He looks at me. "She's been training me for three years now."

"Wow. So you know her moves?"

He smiles. "Not even close."

"Why? Doesn't she teach everyone her moves?"

"Not her personal moves that she uses to fight. She teaches us the basics. Like what I'm teaching you. But I'm teaching you how she teaches."

Nodding, I look at the bag before looking back at him. I continued to punch, letting all my anger out and getting back in the zone as he was yelling at me from the side.

It felt good.

And I was ready.

-

"How was everyone's day today?" Violet asks as we were all at the table, after the day was over with.

"It was good." Hayden smiles as he grabs some pizza from the box that he picked up before he got home.

I look over at Violet as she was looking at me. "Tired."

She smiles as she wipes her hands. "You think you're training a lot?"

"Yeah." I nod. "I've been getting up at five every morning."

"Two more days." Hayden said.

Nodding, I sighed as I looked at the pizza in my plate. I didn't want to eat a lot of this but I was mostly drinking water instead.

"Yeah."

"You'll do great, Journey." Violet smiles. "I'm sorry that I haven't been that supportive."

"It's ok." I smile at her. "I mean, I'm going against a professional boxer and I'm just a person in the crowd.."

She looks at me before looking down at her plate. It didn't bother me that my friends don't believe in me.

Cause I believe in myself.
