"Journey, you ok?"
I shook my head before looking over at Hayden who was looking at me. I slowly nodded before looking back at Lance as he was still staring at Diamond.
It was all making sense now.
I had so many questions and so many unsolved answers.
"Um.." I couldn't even think about what to say.
My mind was everywhere at the moment.
I knew Lance was behind something from the way he was acting.
He made it clear that he was suspicious.
"What are you staring at?"
Looking over at Hayden, he was looking in the direction that I was looking at before looking over at me.
"Lance."
"Why?"
I look back towards him as he was now away from the wall and was bending down near a bag. I kept watching him for a moment before looking at Hayden.
"He's suspicious on what's going on with Ryder. I think he's his brother."
"You think?" Hayden looks back at him.
"He has to be." I lean my arms on my legs as I was watching him before turning my attention to Violet, who was punching a bag as hard as she could.
We both watched her for a moment and I couldn't help but smile.
After a moment, I look away and caught Diamond's eyes as she was staring at me. I stared at her as well and it was a staring contest between us before she turns her attention away.
That made me smile.
Violet came over to the bleachers after a few minutes and took chugs of her water before looking at us. I could see sweat running down her face and a smile formed.
"You're kicking ass babe." I smile.
"Thanks." She breathed out. "I feel like I am."
Smiling at her, she placed her water bottle down before walking back to her trainer. I kept watching her until Hayden hit my arm.
I saw Lance walking towards us before walking up the bleachers. "Hey." He smiles as he sits on the step below us. "What's up."
Glancing over at Hayden, he looks at me before looking back at Lance. I look back at him and faked a smile. "Just watching Violet kick ass."
"She's doing good." He looks over at her and as I was watching him, his head turned slightly towards Diamond. "I heard you were dating the queen bee." He looks up at me.
"From the paper?"
"Yeah."
"Not dating."
He nods. "Well, it looked like that."
"Does it matter?" Hayden said. "Friends can go out too."
Lance looks at him before chuckling. "Chill."
I saw Hayden look at me before I look at Lance. "We're just friends."
He nods before smiling. "Got it."
After that, he gets up and leaves.
"Yeah.." Hayden said. "He's definitely suspicious. But what does Ryder mean by they had a past? I know he didn't date her."
"Don't know. But I'll find out."
Watching him, I look away before my eyes landed on Diamond. I kept watching her and I couldn't help but smile.
Then she turns her head and meets my eyes.
I sighed as I kept staring her, telling her with my mind how much I adore her.
She looks around before looking back at me. I saw her motion with her hand and it looked like she was tapping her thumb on her hand, indicating a phone.
Pulling my phone out, I saw a text from her. I look up at her as she was now looking away before I look down at the text.
Come to my house tonight
I smiled before texting her back and looking over at her before sighing.
-
After the gym, we all went home and I collapsed on the couch before sighing. I felt so tired cause work had me getting up too damn early for what.
I turned over and stared at the ceiling before hearing Violet on the phone. I saw Hayden walk through the living room before walking out the back door and outside.
Looking around, I thought about Diamond and smiled as I couldn't wait until tonight. I was a little caught off guard by the text but it seems as though she's opening more.
Not sure if I'm doing it but I knew I was.
Her walls were breaking and I had everything to do with that.
She likes me.
And that made me happy.
I liked her also.
A lot.
So much that I keep getting butterflies every time I see her. I could just feel my heart fluttering in my chest and she was the reason.
I honestly couldn't wait to see where it lends us soon cause I knew we weren't officially dating yet.
But what she said about not caring if people assume we are dating made me smile.
It's a relief that she doesn't have a problem with all this shit that's going on through the papers cause some of them were just stupid headlines.
Diamond didn't care.
I shouldn't either but Ryder has gone too far on stalking her.
But she didn't seem to care.
I guess the police is a thing.
It just makes me wonder why she doesn't have a gate with guards around her house.
Her house was out in the open.
Anyone could just walk up and do whatever.
But I guess some people didn't care.
As I was laying there, Violet came in and asked what we were all doing later tonight. I saw Hayden walk in at the same time and I told them I had plans with Diamond.
"This is so fucking cute." Violet smiles.
"Yeah, getting closer to her. We're happy for you."
"Thanks." I smile at them. "Not sure what she wants."
Hayden looks over at Violet and makes a face. "I can name a few things."
"Shut up, Hayden." Violet said.
It took me a moment to understand.
"Yeah, shut up." I said before seeing him chuckle.
Shaking my head, Violet was giving Hayden a lecture and I laughed out loud. I saw him stand there like he was just sent to him mom for doing something bad.
"I love you." I smiled at Violet.
"I love you too." She looks at Hayden. "Don't ever say that again ok? I mean it Hayden Thomas Avery."
I laughed again and he crossed his arms before telling Violet he was sorry and he would never say anything like that again.
Laughing, I saw Hayden walk out of the room as well as Violet. I chuckle before wiping my eyes and sighing as I stared at the ceiling.
Thinking about tonight was constantly running through my head and I couldn't wait.
