"How was babysitting?" Hayden asks as we were walking into a store after I came back from Diamond's house.
It was around six in the afternoon and we were going shopping for dinner tonight. I had a list of what Violet wanted and she made sure to tell us not to get useless shit.
But I knew that wasn't going to happen.
Sending me and Hayden together was like sending kids to do all the shopping.
"It was actually really fun. And that house.. gosh, I was in love."
Hayden smiles at me as he grabs a cart. "Did you get any information from the kids?"
"What?" I gave him a look.
"Some people do that. They use the kids for information."
Shaking my head, I look around the store for a moment. "No. I didn't do that." I saw some V8 juice and picked it up before tossing it in the cart.
"Um, we're suppose to get things on the list."
"Oh well." I shrug.
Hayden shakes his head as he was pushing the cart, going down aisles and grabbing things we needed. I was in the back, picking things I wanted and secretly putting it in the cart.
"So, the house was big? Beautiful? Expensive? Did she pay well?"
"Yeah." I smiled. "It was like never ended. And Diamond's room was amazing."
Hayden stops and looks at me. "You were in her room? Damn, stalker." He chuckles.
"Madison and Morgan took me in there to find a bathing suit."
"How old is her kids?"
"Ten. They're twins."
He nods then smiles. "That's amazing. So, how old is she?"
Shrugging, I look at him before grabbing some yoohoo. "Don't know. Nobody knows."
"Her kids wouldn't tell you?"
"Nope." I watch as he nods before we walked out of the aisle and into another one. I kept thinking about if I should tell him about what her kids said, Violet and Michael said.
We finally finished and got into line. I helped Hayden place everything on the belt before standing around and waiting for us to leave.
"Seventy two dollars." Hayden said as we were walking out of the store and into the parking lot. "Not bad."
"We did good."
"And you got some junk only for you."
I smiled. "Yep. She won't know."
"She wants to the receipt."
"Well, I'm dead."
He laughs as we put the bags in the car then I pushed the cart back to the store before walking back out. I look around before getting to the car and getting in.
"Babysitting tomorrow?"
Nodding, I look out the window as we were leaving the parking lot. "She said she'll call me."
He smiles and I look at him. "I think that's cute."
"You're going to find it cute when I knock you out."
He chuckles before looking at the road. "I mean.. you're getting closer to her."
Looking at him, I guess that was true. I was getting closer to her without even trying. I mean, I knew I wanted to get closer to her but I didn't know it would be this way.
