Jehovah's Witness is a cult to me.
There is so much about it that just seems like a cult.
So I'm watching this video above, the guy is a former Jehovah's Witness. (He makes a lot of videos on the "religion's" issues)
And he's looking at this article that says "It's okay if you're a JW, and your kid doesn't follow that. As a parent, you should love them unconditionally still!"This is the same people that say to cut all contact with a family member if they so much as question their beliefs.
Well, there was a clip of this 10 year old girl saying her sister was disfellowed and tried contacting her, but because the 10 year old "wanted to go to paradise", she blocked her sister.
A 10 year old shouldn't be saying "I want to be accepted to paradise", and cutting contact with someone who would take a hundred bullets for them because they don't have the same beliefs.
And I feel bad for the child who wanted to be pen pals.
She doesn't know she's being used as a recruitment agent for a cult. She thought she was just finding a friend her age. She's being used. But it's still messed up they know where he lives, and actively send things to recruit his daughter.
Was probably his mother who told. He also has another video that's titled something about how his mother is trying to bring his daughter into the cult.A religion is when you have something to believe in, that gives you strength to proceed, to give you hope that there's something after death, something that you tell others about but don't force them to join.
A cult is recruiting people to act the same, do the same things, train them to look for others to recruit, to tear family and friends apart.
Literally, a JW can't celebrate most holidays, they can't even celebrate someone's birthday at school.
Children shouldn't be in this.
They shouldn't be shunned for having their own thoughts.
They should be celebrating holidays, birthdays, have FUNIf my kid told me they're an Athiest, Satanist, Christian, ETC; I'd be okay with it. As long as they don't use their belief/lack thereof to justify being a jerk.
That's how a family should be. Not someone who has you just to bring more members into the cult. And don't even get me started on thise Sam and Caleb cartoons. It's just more brainwashinh aimed towards children.
Thankfully, my family has never had issues with them. There's some in AZ that were chill. But why they would go knocking at trailer park doors, I don't know.
But they must've been if the few who don't mind if people don't believe the same thing, because my dad would have a normal human conversation with them, even when they've all already established their differences. And they end with "Have a good day."But really, 99% is a cult.
Some of this guys other stuff says having the fear of God, the fear of Jehovah, is a good thing.A good ruler allows you to follow if you wish.
A bad ruler forces you to follow with the threat of bad things looming over like a funnel cloud.
Maybe I should've put this in my rant book? I dunno.
