I mentally can not handle kids. And after basically parentification for my younger teenage years, I DON'T want kids!
If I had kids, they'd probably grow up with stories of me yelling at them, hurting them, being drawn away from them. And I can't write as much when I have kids to watch. So it's selfish for me to not want to inflict that on a child?
And there's plenty of other people who were forced into a parent roll as a child who grew up not wanting kids because they basically already did far too early. They're extremly selfish for already having BS on them?
And also. With kids, you have to change their diapers, teach them how to walk, make sure they learn how to read and write, possibly handle a disorder they have, deal with school because CPS sees you not taking your kid to school as a big issue, make sure they don't meet creeps online, try to make sure they don't get hooked on drugs, try to help them if they get stuck in an abusive relationship, and the list keeps going. Yes, there are some ups to parenthood. But not everyone can mentally and/or physically handle having a child. And not to mention: kids are EXPENSIVE There's birthdays, Christmas, Easter, new clothes, new toys, all the gas you'd use driving them to places, medical bills if they got injured. Not everyone is as rich as you, old man.
Pets though. All you have to do is feed them, keep them safe, take them for nice walks, and treat them with love. Sure, occasionally stop them from escaping the yard and maybe clean up aftermath here and there. But not as stressing as children! And they don't run around as much.
Plus, the world is SO OVERPOPULATED How tf are we supposed to calm global warming with so many kids popping out? That means more resources being used up.
And why tf would anyone want to have a kid in the state the world is? Many places brush off abuse and SA You have things like Pizzagate and such People are going crazy more and more each day. There's the covid crap and people trying to force the vaxx even on kids in the hospital.
Why would I ever want to bring a kid into this world!?
And some point I saw people bringing up: If it's so selfish to not have kids, where tf are his kids? Hm?
