Not exactly putting the New in News, but it's still an issue.
PooTube here has an issue where ANYONE can get copyright striked. Even the original creators of something. SOmetimes by a big company or some heartless idiot.
Recently, That Mythology Guy has been dealing with this issue.
I enjoy his content and he does genuinely give fun uncle vibes, so I suggest watching his channel. He also does Percy Jackson skits as well.
YT, and on top of that Disney, sucks.
As he said, the way it was claimed made it seem like a human doing it. A bot would've responded in shorter time.
The rude service. Like, bruh-
This is either some idiot who needs firing or a badly sassy bot.
And in the comments, people were talking about people who made an original song were getting copyrighted for their own song.
For example, if Markiplier put out an original song, and gives people the freedom to use it for their videos. But someone keeps finding those videos, strikes them, and even goes as far as to claim copyright over the original video!
Yet I don't see things, p0rnopgraphic things, get copyrighted. Pretty sure Disney bought the rights to Hasbro, yet they haven't stricken any of the uncensored non-age-restricted MLP "game" videos.
Creators can't be safe from their own stuff getting claimed.
And the whole "We can't come between you and the claimer" thing is bs. So what even is their job? They get paid just to tell people "You'll have to take it up with big bank. Sorryyyyyy!"
It's literally useless.
And I see so many creators get stricken for stupid things.
Lost Pause for accidentally not censoring 2 pixels of an anime pantie shot.
Some for playing, which is also free promotion, a horror game.
Some rock cover people.
Not to mention they pay no mind to child abuse videos.
But as soon as someone says "They copyright, even if I have no proof", they listen.
Seriously, there should really REALLY be a site like YT that isn't so disgustingly greedy, doesn't lock things behind a paywall, and doesn't bend down and suck off the big companies and listen to their every whim.
