Imagine; you have a dark past, even darker than your team thinks, you beg Fury to get you off of this case, Steve takes it personal, until you tell him.

He's been ignoring you, and he's trying to make you think he is not. You know him better than to think he isn't.

Answers short, gaze on everything except you, he runs out of the room every chance he has and you're getting restless from it.

'We need to talk...' you tell him as you stand in the doorway to the living room.

He's sitting on the couch, assembling something on the coffee table. He huffs in surprise. 'Really? Is something up?' He asks without even acknowledging you.

'You tell me, you've been ignoring me ever since we got here and I have no idea why...so you tell me what's going on..'

'Oh only that you didn't want to go on this mission with me and practically begged Fury to make a switch of partners...' He tells you matter- off- factly.

Shit, so he did hear that. You know you said nothing that could've offended him, but as with all miscommunication, he must've heard it partly and not the full extend.

'Steve.. I can explain...'

'What's more to explain? You don't want to work with me... clearly you are so disgusted by me that you refuse to be paired with me and you would do anything to get out of it-'

'This isn't about you, Steve!' You snap making him look at you for the first time in a couple of days. 'You clearly didn't hear the whole thing!'

'I heard enough...'

'God fucking- the world does not revolve around you! Okay?! Again This isn't about you! I didn't want to go on this mission for a different reason! It's not the partner but the place of this fucking mission and frankly you're making it worse with your immature and toxic fucking behaviour! What are you? A toddler? God...' you shake your head.

His demeanour changes when he sees the look in your eyes as you watch him. His stoic face turns into one of worry.

'So what happened then?'

'I was working for shield, way before they got you out of the ice... they helped me escape Hydra when I was a teenager, trained me further to the avenger I am now blah blah blah... that's what you know...right?' You ask him as you walk over to the couch opposite of his.

'Yeah..'

'When I worked for shield.. well they weren't nice to anyone Hydra... or at least to anyone still working for them...'

'Target in sight...' you say as you watch the house it's your targets in it through the scope of a sniper rifle. You're hidden away good, just like they requested.

'We need them all dead... no witnesses and no survivors, make it look like an accident...'  her voice sounds cold all of the sudden.

'Negative, there is a child present...'

'Then kill her too...'
