You've been keeping your eyes on him for a while. You can feel his disdain through the bond you've created over the years. You have a feeling that it will boil over into something more.

And you can't help but agree with him when you follow his eyes onto the people below. Phastos made them move to fast, they're using the knowledge to create weaponry.

Then to use that same weaponry to fight other people, to harm and murder them. Then to even speak of the horrors in between.

And after having to watch from the sidelines for years, it becomes harder and harder to watch it go on.

'Look at them...' he sighs as you two stand in front of the window, watching the humans fights over whatever reason they have come up with.

'I know...' sadness laced your voice as your hand takes shelter in his. Your head finds its way onto his shoulder.

'If only we were allowed to interfere... the people could be happy... no more bloodshed, no more fighting...'

'It is difficult to see something that hasn't been before, but I cannot stand to watch this any longer..' you tell him.

'All because of the deviants.. which they have eliminated-'

'We... we eliminated them... all of us...' you remind Druig.

'It won't matter if they continue to kill each other...'

'You can't interfere, the both of you..' Phastos comments catching everyone's attention. 'We don't interfere in their wars...'

'War? Look at them Phastos! This is genocide!' You speak to him.

'Their weapons have become too dangerous..too deadly...maybe it wasn't such a good idea.. helping them advance...' he turns to Phastos as well, the hold on your hand getting tighter.

'Technology is a part of their evolutionary process, Druig..It's not exactly something that I can stop.'

'No, you can't. But we can...' he turns to you, his eyes pleading.

'Druig..' Ajak interjects. 'I know you are upset..'

'UPSET? We've trusted you for 7,000 years, and look where you've gotten us. I've watched humans destroy each other when I could stop it all in a heartbeat. Do you know what that does to someone after centuries?
Could our mission have been a mistake? Are we really helping these people build a better world, huh?

The screaming and clattering continues in the distance, only further proving his point.

'We're just like the soldiers down there. Pawns to their leaders, blinded by loyalty... you have to understand that having to watch them fight... while being able to stop them... it breaks you...this ends now...' you tell them.

'The deviants are gone... you may all go, there's no reason for me to keep you here... one day we will meet again, and tell me what you have seen...' Ajak speaks up, effectively releasing everyone from their promise to Arishem.
