You look at yourself in the mirror, rage surges through you when you do. Your magic hasn't set in yet. Half of your face is burned and being held together simply by the muscles in it, there's almost no skin covering it.
If you didn't know any better you'd say you were one of the main zombies in The Walking Dead.
A shaky hand goes up to touch it and you hiss from the sting that the action brings. There's this painful clench of your heart when you remember, the moment you snapped your fingers.
It was the most pain you've ever experienced, your magic fought the power of those stones, you felt it. Your power lost, which was supposed to happen, but the burning spreading throughout your arm and right side of your face wasn't.
You remember Tony kneeling down and telling you that you won, that Thanos was no longer up on his feet and neither was his army. But all you responded to him was for him to kill you.
The pain was excruciating, breathing, talking, moving, it didn't matter because it all hurt too much. But Tony wouldn't complete your request, you'd heal and walk around as if nothing happened. He was right about the walking part.
'I'll do it... I mean who knows what will happen...' you told that to them not knowing what was to come. Because if you would've known what would happen after you sacrificed yourself for the greater good, you would have never done it.
Six months later and you're still breathing, to the outside world you look completely healed as well. What nobody knows however is the damage the gauntlet and the stones did to you, it took a toll on your body that you couldn't pay as it turns out.
