Y/n of course did not have a shower in the common bathroom after the incident that occurred in the morning; rather she went for a shower in her grandma's bathroom. She was now sitting on her bed and it was around four in the evening. She tried really hard to recall what possibly could have happened to her that she woke up with sore muscles, but even after hours of thinking, she could not figure it out. Although she had hazy memories of last night, things still were not clear to her yet.

In the evening when Y/n was sitting in the backyard of her grandma's house while facing the forest, completely lost in her thoughts, she notices someone walk past the window of her bedroom from the corner of her eyes. She immediately got up from the bench she was sitting on and made her way towards her room's window. Standing just in front of her bedroom window, she looks around in hopes to find that 'someone' she saw pass by her window. Searching for a few minutes and not having any clue, Y/n decided to give up and went inside the house. As soon as she went inside, she saw her mother and her grandma sitting in the living room while sipping some tea.

"Hey, mom. Did we have a visitor?" Y/n asked her mom as she sat beside her grandma on the couch.

"No!? Why are you asking though?"

"I- Are you sure? I saw someone walk past our property. Umm, to be precise, walk past my bedroom window."

Her mother did not take it seriously. She thought her daughter was again hallucinating as she had been behaving like this for a few days now; first, the night of the dinner when she behaved weirdly, then comes the evening when she said that there was someone in their house when she was alone but her father never found any trace of anyone entering or leaving the house, then Y/n saying that there was something written on the mirror and now this. Y/n's mother was kind of frustrated by her daughter's behavior now.

"We literally had no guests Y/n, for fucks sake get your head straight. You have been behaving like this for days now and trust me it's so annoying. It's really annoying putting up with your shit of seeing people in the house or seeing things written on the mirror." her mom said before walking out of the living room.

While spitting those words, Y/n's mom never really realized the effect it had on Y/n. She started to believe that she was really hallucinating now as her mother who earlier said that she believed in her, was now thinking that her daughter was making up stories.

"Hey! It's ok; I guess your mom's in a bad mood today. I heard your mom argue with your dad over the phone. I am sure she didn't mean any of those; it was just her frustration with the argument. So anyway, tell me what you saw." her grandma spoke in the sweetest way possible.

"Let it be gran, I was probably hallucinating." with that said, Y/n walked into her bedroom.

-----

"Y/n, come out for dinner honey!" Y/n's grandma yelled from the kitchen.

"I am not hungry. You guys continue."

She was not hungry; it was of course a lie. She just did not have the will to eat after her mother talked to her like that. It was quite normal for Y/n to skip meals whenever she was not in a good mood and tonight was no different. She sat in her bedroom for hours before finally getting off her bed and walking into the kitchen in search of some food. As she walked into the living room that led into the kitchen, her eyes fell on the clock that was hung above one of the windows in the living room. She saw the time was around eleven in the night and of course the other two women in the house were fast asleep. She went into the kitchen, took out some left-over food from the refrigerator, put it into the microwave oven to heat it up, and sat on the kitchen island while dangling her feet and waiting for the food to heat up. While she was sitting on the kitchen island, she heard a very familiar tap on the kitchen window. As soon as the sound reached her ears, she froze on spot. She could feel her body hair stand and she started to take deep breaths to calm herself down; anxiety started to hit. As she slowly turned her head around to look at the window, the microwave beeped. She immediately jumped down from the island and walked towards the oven to take out her food when she heard the door of her bedroom open and close very slowly. She took out her food while her head was still in the direction of her room; she put the bowl of food on the table and walked slowly towards her bedroom. She herself does not know from where she got the courage to do that in the middle of the night, but she did it anyway.

After a couple of minutes, when she was standing right in front of her closed bedroom door, she could clearly hear someone walk around inside her bedroom. She stood there for a while listening closely to what was happening on the other side of the door. She was a bit less scared at this point as she was not trapped inside four walls, she was outside her room and if anything has to happen to her she can immediately run to her grandma's room; therefore, without giving it any more thought she opened the door in a swift move. As she scrutinized her room, she could not find anyone which again made her think that she indeed was hallucinating. Closing the door behind her and walking towards the kitchen where her food bowl was placed on a table, she saw that it was now missing from its place. She looked through the kitchen properly hoping to find the bowl as she clearly remembered placing it on the table; she turned to look around if her mom or grandma woke up and put it somewhere else, she saw the bowl on the coffee table in the living room. She instantly called for her mother or her grandma to check if they were present in the living room but she saw or heard no one. She steadily walked into the living room and stood in front of the coffee table on which the bowl was placed and thought for a moment that how on earth was it possible for a bowl to move from the kitchen to the living room when there is no one around. As she was thinking, she thought of going to her gran's room and checking if they are asleep; this time she did not leave her precious food alone, rather she took it with her.

She slowly opened the door to her gran's bedroom with one hand while the other hand was holding the bowl, she looked inside only to find her mom and her grandma sleeping. She slowly backed away and closed the door, all set to go back to her bedroom and enjoy her meal thinking that all of it was just a mere hallucination, she saw a tall black figure standing just in front of the dark staircase that descends from the terrace and that is when memories of the previous night hit her.
