Y/n helped her mom pack the very necessary things that she was going to take with her to their house before she leaves it forever for good. It was in the evening around five when her mom was all set to leave. Y/n insisted on coming with her as it would be easier for her mom to pack all the things quickly, but her mom resisted saying that she will be fine and will positively return by the next day.
After her mom was gone, she was sitting with her grandma while chatting with her. She thought of talking to her gran about the experiences that she had in the past days, but then she thought, it must be just hallucination and nothing else as her mom said and she was just overthinking things. Her grandma could easily sense the discomfort in Y/n's eyes as she was battling with herself if she should talk about it with her grandma or not, so her grandma thought of starting the conversation.
"You know you can share everything with me right?" Y/n's granny spoke while looking at her.
"Uh- huh? Ye- yes. I know- I know!" Y/n herself does not know why she stuttered while replying to her gran.
"So tell me what's bothering you."
Still thinking if she should continue the conversation or not, she notices that her grandma was really trying to help her with all the uneasy feeling that she had; therefore she made the decision of telling her grandma everything.
-----
Y/n was looking at her grandma while the old lady seemed to be really shocked by what her granddaughter just explained to her. She was beyond surprised to hear that all these things were happening to her precious little grandchild in her own house. Never in her entire life had she thought that she would have stalkers in her house, let alone getting inside the house and going into Y/n's bedroom at night and also into the bathroom. Y/n's grandma never really thought that Y/n was hallucinating, but she could never even imagine that the situation was this deep and scary.
"Can you tell me how he looks?"
"I can't tell you that gran as I myself have never seen his face. It's just that he comes in the dark and leaves before I wake up. Also, I barely remember what happens to me when he comes, it's as if he does some magic and I forget everything."
Y/n's grandma could sense the tension building up in the room; these two ladies were all by themselves now and if this person breaks into the house at night and tries to harm Y/n, they would have nowhere to go. Y/n's grandma suggested Y/n to sleep with her until her mom comes back but Y/n rejected the offer. She said she will be fine and will call her if anything happens; she does not want to bother her almost eighty-year-old grandma due to the issues that she had.
It was already almost dinner time and both of them were sitting at the dinner table while having some noodles that Y/n made. As time was passing by and it was getting closer to midnight and Y/n was starting to get anxious. She started getting scared that the creepy person would show up and she will have to go through the same shit again. The whole time she sat with her grandma for dinner, she was scared; she was scared that as soon as her grandma would be asleep, she will be attacked. She tried to stay strong today. She made up her mind and said to herself that no matter what happens, she will fight; she would not get scared.
After dinner, she helped her grandma with the dishes, and then both of them headed to their respective bedrooms. Y/n did not lie on her bed, instead she was sitting with the night lamp still on and the curtains completely closed. She would steal glances at the clock from time to time and would have her ears perked up even at the slightest noise. As she sat on the same spot on her bed for some three to four hours and she did not feel scared anymore, she slowly got up from her bed before walking over to the window and very slowly peeking out of the window through the curtains. She was very sure that she will see someone standing right outside the window while staring at her but to her surprise, there was no one. She was carefully looking out of her window, scanning the whole area, and also looking through the tree line in the dark when she hears the door of her bedroom open. She immediately froze on her spot until she heard the voice.
"What are you looking at? Did he come again?" Y/n was relaxed as she heard her grandma speak.
As she turned around, she saw the lights of the living room on and her grandma was standing at her doorstep, half asleep.
"You didn't sleep?" Y/n asked.
"I did, but I just came to check up on you as I heard some sort of noise outside."
"Oh! Thank you so much, gran. I am fine but even I heard some noises and that's why I was looking outside."
"Okay! Go to sleep then. If you feel any kind of discomfort or feel anxious or scared, don't hesitate to come to my room."
Listening to this, Y/n just passed her gran a small smile and greeted each other a good night. Her grandma walked out of her room and went to her own room and Y/n jumped on the bed to sleep.
-----
The sun was shining bright and Y/n woke up after her grandma sweetly called her for breakfast. She did not have that uneasy feeling of being watched or having sore muscles. She was not even scared anymore. She walked out of her room and her eyes landed on a bowl of hot pasta that was kept on the dining table. She smiled at her grandma before sitting and digging into the food. Finally after so long, she felt a bit relaxed; she felt safe.
"Was everything alright last night?" Y/n's grandma spoke while catching her attention.
"Yes, gran. Yesterday I slept well; without any worries."
"That's good to hear. I just hope that whoever it was never returns and if they do, this time we will report it to the police. Don't worry; you have your grandma with you." Y/n's grandma spoke as they both shared a small laugh and then continued with their breakfast.
She was glad to have such a caring granny that literally woke up in the middle of the night to just check up on her and make sure that the creep did not show up to attack her granddaughter. Although she felt a bit relaxed, she was still tensed about her parents. She wanted to know what was the actual reason behind her dad leaving her mom because she believed that her father loved her mother unconditionally and would never leave her for someone else; she could sense that there was something fishy about this whole divorce thing. Although her mother did not want her to meet her dad, she still wanted to face him once, maybe for the last time but she knew that she had to.
