She quickly packed the things that she had here in her grandma's house and was all set to leave for her home. Although she does not know if that place could be called 'home' anymore as her parents are divorced and- parents! Her mother is missing and her father- wait! That is when it hit her like a motherfucking truck; it was her father that she saw last night in her room. Never in a million years had she imagined that her father would do that to her. The relation that the father-daughter duo had was very pure and precious; she did not understand why her father would do such a thing to his daughter. As a result of these thoughts that were running through her mind, she started crying. Placing her palm over her mouth and biting on her lower lip to suppress the unbearable pain in her chest, she sat on the couch. 'Was this the reason why he divorced mom?' 'Why would he do that to me?' these were the questions that were lingering inside her head.

She understood that it would not be safe for her to go to her house alone; her father could be in there planning for the next move. At this point, she was even thinking if the stalker, a.k.a. her father was responsible for her grandma going missing. Therefore she called the police officers again and asked them if they could arrange something for her. Listening to what she said, the officers were beyond shocked. They had the same question as Y/n; how could he do that to his own daughter? Nonetheless, the officers agreed to her request and arranged a car in which she would be safely escorted to her house by them.

-----

Reaching her house, she realized that she had made the best decision of her life by asking the police officers to get her to her house, and here's why-

Once she reached her house, the kind officers offered to help her with her luggage while she went to open the door. As they got down from the car they saw both of Y/n's parent's cars parked at the shed. As Y/n was walking up to the door, she realized that she did not have the keys. They had only two keys for their house; one out of which would always be with her mother, who was now missing and the other key would be with her father, who turned out to be a monster. Stopping midway, she turned around to look at the officers who were walking behind her with her luggage.

"I- I don't have the keys. I guess we gotta break it." Y/n spoke with a pout.

"Uhm, okay! No worries. We'll break it."

As the cops walked back to their car in search of some equipment that could help them with opening the lock to their door, Y/n walked up to the door with her luggage. After the officers were successful in finding equipment and finally could open the door, they walked inside and helped Y/n with the luggage. As all the three people entered the house, they immediately sensed something was off with the house. The three of them looked at each other when one of the officers spoke.

"Do you smell that as well or is it just me?" the officer asked the rest two while scrunching his nose and furrowing his eyebrows.

Both Y/n and the other officer nodded in agreement as, as soon as they entered the house they were greeted with a disgusting smell of rotting flesh. The very first thing that came to all their minds was that it must be some small animal that died inside the house as it was empty for few days but then it hit Y/n that her dad probably would have stayed back in the house as he had those nasty plans about his daughter. As seconds were passing by, the officers and Y/n were starting to get very suspicious.

"Umm, do you mind checking the house once before you leave? I actually don't have a good feeling about it. Please?" Y/n requested the officer who reluctantly nodded. Although they were getting late and they had to return to their town; they still thought of doing the last favor for Y/n.

As both the officers went further inside the house with Y/n following behind them, the smell became stronger. At a point, it started to smell so bad that they were almost gagging.

Upon picking up the trail towards the direction from where the smell was coming, they found themselves standing in front of Y/n's parent's room. All the three stood there contemplating what it could be as it did not smell like just some small dead animal anymore. One of the officers tried to unlock the door but unfortunately, the door was locked.

"We have spare keys for each room." looking up at the cops, Y/n uttered and immediately ran towards one of the cabinets in the kitchen that had many spare keys for different parts of the house. Getting the keys from the cabinet and handing it over to the cop who was trying to open the door, Y/n stood behind them while covering her nose and her mouth with her palm. As soon as the cop got the keys, he put them in the keyhole and soon the door was unlocked. Glancing towards the other cop and then towards Y/n he turns the doorknob, and to their horror, there lay the dead bodies of Y/n's father and mother.

Y/n could not believe what she saw. Her parent's bodies were almost unrecognizable. It looked as if something had been feeding on them. Their skin was ripped and they could see the internals of her parent's bodies. The white sheet on their bed was now covered with blood; it had completely turned red. While in the middle of processing all these, Y/n hears one of the cops speak.

"How on earth is this even possible? Like, I- I don't even understand. Is it humanly possible to kill someone like this?"

"Honestly, thirty years into this service, and I have never seen a case like this." the other cop replied.

Y/n was far away from crying; she still could not believe that whatever she was seeing has happened for real. Not a single tear rolled down her cheeks; not because she did not love her parents and was not affected by the whole scene in front of her but because she was too shocked to even understand the loss. As she heard the cops talk about the murder, she slowly backed away from the spot.

"I- I don't understand how- like- my dad- he- he was there in my room; in granny's house. I saw him." Y/n spoke out loud while grabbing the attention of the officers. "I know it was him."

"Are you sure it was your father that you saw because looking at his body, it doesn't look like a murder that took place within twenty-four hours?"

"That's what is confusing me. I don't understand what is going on."

"Mhm, it's pretty confusing. Anyway, I'd suggest you to stay here till we call the local police and hand this case over to them. We can't carry on with it as we don't belong to this place. Uhh, don't worry; we'll leave after they arrive."

Y/n was sitting in the living room whereas one of the cops was calling the local police and the other was taking a quick look around the house in hopes of finding some clue.
