Getting down from the train, Y/n looked around the station as if it has been so long since she last visited when actually it was just a few days. She was pretty familiar with this town as she often came to visit her grandma as a child and therefore, she did not feel as if she was in a new place all alone. Although it was her first time visiting this town alone, she still knew her way out. Coming out of the station, she booked a cab and gave her grandma's location as she was going to head to her grandma's house. The journey was not going to be very long as her grandma did not stay much far away from the station; it would take a maximum of forty minutes.

Paying the driver and stepping inside the fence, Y/n almost felt weak at the negative vibes that the house was radiating. Her grandma's remains were of course taken by the police for tests and the house was also sealed, but the weird feeling of something evil lurking in the house was still present. Y/n was informed by the police officers that she would find the house sealed and that she needed to inform them before she went inside; which she, of course, did while making her way to her grandma's house and the police informed that they will be arriving shortly after as well.
Putting her bag down on the floor in the living room, her eyes landed on a very particular thing, to be specific a very particular person that she seemed to know. She saw a figure of a man that she could not properly recognize but was very familiar to her. The man was standing in the backyard of the house where the police have said that they found her grandma's bones while his back was facing Y/n. He did not realize that there was someone present in the house until Y/n called him out.
"Hey! Who's there?" Y/n yelled from the living room while looking straight at the man's back through the kitchen window. She was about to go towards him, but before she could take a step forward, she heard the sirens of the police car. She looked back at the main door of the house which she left open only to see the two officers with whom she had a talk, come inside the house. As she turned around to see the man that was standing in the backyard, she saw him walk away from the property; clearly jumping over the fence.
"Hey, officers!" Y/n greeted the men while making her way towards them.
"Hi, Ms. Y/n. How are you doing?"
"That's the question? Really?" Y/n asked; chuckling sarcastically. Of course she was not doing well; she lost her whole fucking family!
"Ah! I am sorry, I should have known. Anyway, we still have your grandma's bones. We'll dispose them off but before we do that I guess we should have a talk." the officers said to Y/n while she just nodded in answer.
"So tell me Ms. Y/n, what happened to your parent's murder case?" one of the officers asked her the question that she definitely did not expect but she answered anyway.
"They couldn't find any lead. They just found some small pieces of claws and some weird DNA. That's it."
"Claws and some weird DNA? Hmm, that's interesting!"
"Huh! What do you mean, officer?" she was totally shocked by the officer's calm behaviour.
"What I mean is, your grandma wasn't the only one that went missing that day. There were two more missing complaints that we received that day and later we found everyone's dead body buried in the backyard of their house. But- but the thing that doesn't settle well with any of us in the police department is that, only your grandma was found in such a brutal condition where it was just the skeleton that we found whereas, the other two cases were more like your parent's case; you know like, we found their body and there was clawing that definitely took place and to everyone's surprise, the weird DNA that you are talking about, we did find the samples of the same in the other two bodies that were discovered." the officer explained and Y/n felt the land beneath her slip away. She was too shocked to even think and understand what could have been the possible reason for such an outrage by whosoever that did this. She failed to understand why her grandmother was much of a target and the other two were not. Of course, it is not that she wanted something worse to happen to with the other two that went missing but she could not understand why it was only her grandma.
"So we want to know about your parent's murder case in detail so that we can investigate properly and find a clue." one of the officers said while the other looked at her waiting for an answer.
"Yeah, I think for that you should get in touch with the police department of my town. They can totally help you with the investigation." Y/n replied and the officers nodded in response; agreeing to what she said.
"Are you still living there, Y/n?"
"No. I actually moved out of that house. I live in the main town now."
"Okay, that's cool. So anyway, we'll leave now, and please do come to the police station when you are ready for the formalities." with that said, the police officers got up to leave the house when something important clicked inside Y/n's head.
"Hey! Umm, there's a thing that I want you to know. So, the police officers of my town- they did a forensic test to find clues and they never found any fingerprints or any type of animal footprints anywhere in the house."
"Oh yeah, Ms. Y/n, we did neither. We looked for fingerprints everywhere in the house, outside the house, and even in the house of the other two victims, but we found nothing." the officer replied.
"Hey, and one more thing. So like just before you arrived, a person was standing at the backyard of the house and was looking at the ground but as soon as I called him out and your car arrived, I saw him jump over the fence and walk away." Y/n informed; thinking that it could be of any help to the investigation.
"Would you please show us where he was exactly standing?" the police officer asked and Y/n quickly nodded while leading them to the back of the house.
"I am not sure if I can tell the exact spot but I can give you a rough idea."
As they reached the backyard of the house, Y/n stopped at the area where she saw the man stand. As she turned around to look at the officers, she saw them smirking to themselves.
"Is everything okay, officer?" Y/n asked; a bit scared by the creepy smirks of the officers.
"No! He was here; whoever did all these was here. I can tell that because it is the exact spot where we found your grandma's remains" the officer replied while looking at Y/n. "Call the forensic department Mr. Kang and tell them to come here right now." he ordered his mate and the other officer immediately pulled out his phone and got into action.
As the officer was looking out at the backyard for any kind of clues, Y/n heard him mumble to himself; "Guess we are not leaving this soon."
