She already had booked a cab that would be taking her to the motel where she would stay until she found a proper place to live. As she went outside the house, she saw the cab pull up. She quickly stuffed her luggage in the boot of the car and sat on the back seat and asked the driver to drive away. She without fail did lock her house properly before leaving as she still had valuable things in her house. She did not take all of her things with her as until she found a place to say it would be very difficult for her to carry them, so she planned on bringing the remaining things only after she found a house where she can live.
The driver said the ride would take longer than usual as there was huge traffic. Hearing the driver say that, she decided it would be best if she listens to some music to pass her time. As she was listening to songs, all she could think about was of her childhood. The way she grew up like a literal princess, the way her parents pampered her, the way her grandma cared about her so much and protected her from the littlest things as if, if they did not keep an eye on her she might just vanish into thin air; all these things were flooding her head. The worst that happened was her mother's favourite song played and she could not help it anymore. She silently cried the whole trip and thought about where it all went wrong. She could not understand how she lost her whole family just within a blink of an eye.
-----
She was now standing in front of the motel with her luggage and staring at the back of the moving car that just dropped her and left. Sighing to herself and looking down while lightly shaking her head, she made her way towards the motel. As she entered the motel and made her way towards the reception, she found a woman sitting at the reception and she was positive that she was the receptionist.
"Umm, hi. I am Y/n. I made a booking last night." Y/n said politely while passing the receptionist a small smile.
"Oh, hello. Give me a moment Ms. Y/n, let me check."
The receptionist quickly started looking through the list that held the details of bookings while Y/n's eyes roamed around the ground floor of the motel. 'It is a pretty decent place to live in for a week.' Y/n thought as she did not see many people around. She just saw a few couples in the small dining hall that was visible from the reception area and other than those, there were no people around.
"Here. These are the keys for your room miss. If you take the stairs and reach the third floor, then turn right and then left and then again left you would see your room. Have a nice stay Ms. Y/n." the receptionist said with a huge smile on her face.
The whole time the receptionist explained the direction to her room, Y/n stood there in utter confusion. She could not wrap her head around all the left-rights, so she just looked down at her keys, saw the number, and made her way to the staircase. It was pretty difficult for her to carry her luggage all at once, so she kept one of her trolley bags near the staircase and made her way to her room with the other bag; she planned on carrying the bags in two trips.
It was already a hell of a journey for her to carry one bag up the stairs as her room was on the third floor and the bag was quite heavy but anyway she slowly made her way up towards her room. Upon reaching the door, she opened it and was welcomed by a sweet smell of flowers. She understood that the staff must have cleaned it recently as they got a booking and without thinking much she made her way inside her room and she was very much amazed by the interior. She never in her life thought that she would get such a nice room at such a cheap rate that too in a motel. The room was totally illuminated with the sunrays as the curtains were kept open and the walls were painted light grey. It had two single beds in the room and in between those two beds, a fine vintage dresser was kept. The room also had an attached bathroom and a walk-in closet. On the exact opposite of the door, there was a huge bay window that gave an excellent view of the main town.
Quickly putting her bag inside, she made her way out of the room to go get the other bag which was waiting for its owner's return at the foot of the stairs. She went down to the ground floor, got her bag, and made her way upstairs to the third floor where her room was situated while panting like her soul would leave her body any moment. After somehow managing to get all of her bags into her room, she closed the door and simply lay on the bed while staring at the ceiling from which a beautifully decorated ceiling fan was hanging. Everything in the room was so beautiful and she took good time to look around in the room but soon she was interrupted as she heard a soft knock on the door.
"Yes?" Y/n yelled from inside; she did not have the guts to directly go and open the door after all the things related to doors and windows have happened to her in her house.
"Ma'am, I am Lara; the caretaker." as Y/n heard that she got up from her bed and went to open the door.
"Oh, hi!"
"Hello, Ma'am. I just came here to let you know that you can call 033 from the telephone in your room in case of any need and also I wanted to know if you would like your meals in your room or you would like to come to the dining hall."
"Uhh- I- I guess I'll have my meals in my room itself and thank you." with that said, the caretaker smiled and nodded at Y/n and left before Y/n closed the door.
She thought of taking a shower and getting changed into some comfortable clothes after which she was obviously going to get a good sleep. She grabbed her towel and stepped inside the bathroom to have a quick warm shower. As the warm water touched her soft skin and her muscles relaxed, all she thought was about how her life changed within a night. She thought about how she was supposed to have a normal happy life with her family like others but here she was now; lost her parents within a blink of an eye and was now running away from a monster that was probably trying to devour her.
