The journey was pretty long as she chose the public transport instead of booking a private cab like the idiot she is. She reached her parent's house in about two hours and as she walked towards her block, she could feel eyes on her. All her neighbours looked at her with pity; everybody knew that she had no one left in this world and that she has to live without a family until she grows up and gets married.

Standing in front of the main gate, she took a good look at the house in front of her. It was the place where she grew up and now nothing except but for some special memories was left in this place. She walked inside the house after wiping off the tears that rolled down her cheeks while looking at the house. As soon as she entered the house, all that she had held within her heart came out all at once. The house was empty; which once used to be filled with giggles and laughter. Every time she returned home after days from her grandma's house, her mother would stand at the door to welcome her with open arms but now, she was welcomed by the memories that made her heart ache.

Gathering her emotions that were scattered all over the place, she made her way to her room from where she needed a few of her academic related things. She was soon going to join college and she needed a few of her old books that she might need in college. She did bring a bag with her to put all the things in it and after she was done taking her necessities from her room, she went to her parent's room to see if there was something that she would love to take with her. Just as she entered the room, her eyes fell on the family photo that was hung above the bed in her parent's room. She slowly made her way to the photo and gently stroked it while her eyes again welled up with tears. This time she did not break down; she took a deep breath and unhooked it from the wall and gently put it in her bag with a small smile and left the room.

She made her way to a hidden attic in the house which they mostly used as a storeroom. There they had some really old stuff that they rarely used and nobody visited that place. She carefully made her way into the attic only to find it completely covered in dust and spider webs. Blowing the dust off the furniture and taking off the spider webs with her hands, she sat in front of a medium-sized box that she had never seen before. She did not even have any idea what was it doing here. As she slowly reached her hand out to grab the lock and unlock it, she heard heavy footsteps climbing up the stairs.

She felt her heart beating like crazy as she very well knew that she was supposed to be alone here and also she was not expecting any visitors. She quickly stopped what she was doing and hastily got up from the place and ran behind a closet to hide at the corner of the room. She was beyond scared as she had no idea who or what it was that was coming upstairs into the attic and what would happen to her if they found that she was present there as well. Although the space between the closet and the wall was very little, she still somehow managed to squeeze herself into that little space. She tried to calm her breathing down so that she does not make any kind of noise that might alert the other person in the house and covered her mouth with her palm so that all the whimpers were suppressed.

As her eyes roamed in the room, she heard the door of the attic open and a man in all black entered. She could not recognize him at the beginning but when he sat down on the floor in front of the box that she was looking at earlier, she saw his face. It was him; the grumpy guy or should she say, the killer that killed her entire family.

She saw him slowly open the box and he took out a diary-like thing which seemed more like a photo album. She saw him gently roam her hands over the pictures and tried to listen carefully if he was saying something. Minutes passed and this guy never spoke a single word; he just turned the pages and gently stroked all the photos that were present in the photo album. After he was done seeing all the photos, Y/n saw him take out a chain in which a locket was hung. He slowly wrapped his long fingers around the locket and that is when Y/n heard him for the first time since he came; he was crying.

"I know what she thinks. I know she thinks that I am the killer; I killed you. Why don't you come back and tell her the truth, mom?" he spoke while still crying his heart out.

'What does he mean by all this? Who is that she? Who is his mom?' Y/n thought.

"I failed, mom; I failed. I failed as a son; I failed a grandson and I failed as a brother too."

"She said that I am no one to her; pretty understandable but did she really mean that mom?" Y/n saw him speak while wiping off the tears from his cheeks.

'He is no one to whom? Wait- I- I was the one to say that to him that yesterday. Is he talking about me?' Y/n thought as she felt her breath getting uneven due to the possibilities of him talking about her.

"I could not protect her as I promised. Namjoon already found her again. She went somewhere this morning and I don't know where she is. I'll leave now; I'll go find her. There are high chances she might get in trouble."

With that said, Y/n saw him put the photo album and the locket in the box, and then he made his way outside the attic. Y/n waited behind the closet for some good minutes after he left just to make sure that he suddenly does not come back. After about ten more minutes of standing behind the closet, she finally came out.

She was extremely curious about knowing everything that he was talking about. So she quickly sat on the floor and opened the box only to find a very old photo album and a gold locket kept upside down. Her first instinct was to pick the locket up and see who was that lady that he was referring to as mom and as she turned it around, she was met with the most unexpected face; it was her mother's photo.
