Sitting on the couch and thinking who could have been the stalker if it was not her father, her mind automatically diverts to that mysterious guy that she met the other day in the woods. Y/n did not know why, but she could not think of anything or anyone else at that point and she doubted that the guy from the woods was her stalker. She tried to shake off those thoughts but nothing seemed to help. She found herself so broken, as she lost her parents, her grandma was missing and she had no one else in her life to support her or to stand by her and she could not think straight.

After a while, the local police arrived and the other two officers from her grandma's town left, they did a thorough check of the house while one of the cops interrogated Y/n. After taking all details from Y/n, the cops said that they will have to do a few forensic tests to know better about the situation. As her parent's bodies had already started to decompose, it was quite difficult to understand the actual cause of death. She cried; she did cry a lot. She knew that she was now left all alone on this planet; at least until her grandma was found. She knew she no more had anyone that she could refer to as a family. She was still seated on the couch when she saw the medics take her parent's' bodies out; totally wrapped up in some plastic. After the police confirmed that the reports would come out within two days and requested her to not leave the house for the next couple of days, she ran outside the house only to find the neighbors gathering up at the main gate of her house while looking all sympathetic.

It was not that she hated her neighbours but it was quite unusual for them to show up at their house. As she was standing in front of the ambulance in which her parents were kept, her eyes diverted to the extreme end of the crowd that gathered up in front of her house. She saw a tall man in all black standing and watching them from afar, but as soon as his eyes landed on Y/n's figure who was staring at him, he turned around and left the place. Y/n could not understand who it was and why was he standing there as she has never seen that person in her neighborhood before.

The procedure of the investigation went on for some five more hours after her parent's bodies were taken away. She did nothing the whole time; she just simply sat on the couch and watched everyone roam inside her house while trying to find clues. After the investigation of her house was done, the police informed her that she could now continue with her work and that they would not need to search the house again unless there is a huge climax in the case. As the police left, she just closed the door before going to her parent's room and sitting on the floor and crying her heart out. She was angry, frustrated, upset, and very sad that she did not know who did this and what the reason was. She was also very disappointed with herself as she doubted her father of being her stalker when he was already a piece of dead meat.

After sitting there and crying for hours, she automatically fell asleep on the dirty floor with stains of dried blood on it. She did not even bother about her surroundings at this point; she just wanted to be where her parents were in their last moment, even if it had a rotting smell to it.

She woke up from her sleep after three hours and it was already night. She did not have the energy to even move a thing but anyway, she did clean the whole house at night. She has not eaten anything since the morning and now she was extremely hungry. She lost all her strength while cleaning the house and it was now almost eleven in the night and she did not even have anything to eat; if she had to eat she had to go out and buy something or she had to cook and of course, she was not in the condition of doing anything by her own now, so she just went to bed.

She was so tired to even feel or think anything that she did not even notice the figure standing just outside her window on the second floor.

-----

As she woke up with sun rays hitting her face, she felt her body relax a bit; the long night sleep did help. She did not know where to start from. She has never lived alone and that too after finding out that her parents were dead, it was too overwhelming for her. She got down from her bed and walked into the bathroom to freshen up. After she was done, she headed to the kitchen only to be hit by the memories of her mother standing by the counter and preparing breakfast for them while her father would get ready to leave for the office. Unknowingly, tears started rolling down her cheeks. She knew she had to leave these thoughts behind and move on with life but it was not at all easy. She had always been that 'angel' for her parents and even though she was eighteen, her parents always made sure that she was safe all the time and to not pressurize her about anything. After growing up like a princess, it was quite difficult for her to be on her own that too all of a sudden. No one ever thought that Y/n would lose her parents like this and would be left all alone in this huge world.

She wiped her tears away and proceeded with her day. She made herself a somewhat edible breakfast, went to the market for grocery shopping, cooked lunch, searched for colleges to get admission into, and now she was sitting on the front porch of the house while looking at the other neighbors who were busy spending time with their families.

Time flew quickly and it was now almost thirty past eight in the night and she had to prepare dinner. As she was walking inside the house, she saw something move and hide behind the outer walls of the house. She immediately froze on the spot while looking in that direction and contemplating what it could be. She first thought that she was hallucinating as always but thinking deeply, she realized it does not seem to be a hallucination. What if it was the stalker? What if it was her parent's killer and now is here to kill her as well? With all these thoughts running inside her head, she decides to go and see what it is. As she reached the side of the house where she saw that thing move, she stood there scrutinizing to see if she can find a trace; but there was nothing. As she came back to the front of the house and went inside of it, she immediately could feel someone's presence in the house. Shrugging off these thoughts, she moved to the kitchen and started preparing the dinner; totally not realizing that when she left to see the side of the house, the main door was open.
