As fast as she could, she packed her clothes, important documents, and some necessary things that she would need to at least survive a week until she finds a proper place to stay. She did not yet think about where she was going to head to but the only thing she knew was that she was leaving and hopefully it was for good. She was done packing the important things that she was going to take away with her and also she booked a motel near the city centre where she would be living until she found a house for rent. After she was done packing she headed to bed but sleep never visited her as all she could think about was how her life changed just within a week or two and how she was blindly trusting a stranger because she thought that he would not harm her although she did not even know his name or how he looked; if he passed by her without a mask and a different clothing style, she would not even recognize him. All night she just tossed and turned around on her bed while taking glances at the moon and trying to calm her racing heart down.

-----

She woke up to the sun rays hitting her face; she did fall asleep at some point of time in the night but it was not for long. As she sat on her bed, she realized the time was already eight in the morning and she had to leave by at most eleven, so she had some three hours in hand before she was leaving this place forever. She quickly got down from her bed, did her morning routine, and then made some breakfast for herself. After she was almost ready to leave the house, she heard the doorbell ring. As she made her way to the main door and looked through the windows beside the door, she saw the same police officers were standing at the door who had been  investigating her parent's murder case.

"Hi Ms. Y/n, we came here to let you know that the forensic test reports have come and we have found something horrible." one of the officers spoke as they were sitting on the couch in the living room after Y/n opened the door for them.

"Oh, I thought it'd take time. Anyway, what is it? What is that horrible thing that you are talking about?" Y/n questioned while furrowing her eyebrows as she could sense the hesitance in the officer's voice.

"Uhh, so- this case is pretty mysterious. We have never had seen anything like this before. When we saw the reports, we completely freaked out."

"Why so, officer? Can you please tell me in detail? It's really making me anxious."

"So, as you have already seen your parent's bodies with your own eyes, you might have realized that it wasn't any normal murder. No human can kill a person like that and if the case is that the killer is a psychopath, then he might have to use some extraordinary weapons to kill your parents like that. When the forensic test was done, we found out that your parents were clawed and for any human to do that, they would need really sharp blade-like nails or any weapon and talking about this town, there's no single shop that makes any such weapon. Therefore, we are not suspecting any humans." the officer explained.

"So you think it was an animal that did this to my parents?" Y/n questioned with curiosity rushing through her blood.

"We thought the same too." the officer replied while slowly nodding his head.

"What do you mean by 'thought'?"

"Umm, so- you see, we checked the animals that reside in this town; in the woods. There are wolves, foxes, hyenas, and few more such predators, but there is none that can attack like that. Even a tiger's claws wouldn't reach that deep in a human body. A tiger's claws would reach about ten centimetres deep but the depth of the cuts that we found on your parent's bodies, they were about some fifteen to eighteen centimetres."

Hearing all these, Y/n felt so shocked and sad that her parents had to go through this shit but she could not understand what or who could have done this.

"How do you know they were claws and not some metal or blade?" Y/n questioned.

"We ran a forensic test Ms. Y/n and we found a small piece of nail or the claw in your mother's body. So we tested that small piece of the claw for DNA samples and the horrifying part is that the DNA samples neither are of humans nor of animals."

Y/n did not know how to function anymore. When she heard that the samples did not match human DNA or even animal DNA, she could not wrap her head around it no matter how hard she tried.

"And- and what about th- the investigation you ran in my house; for the fingerprints or so?"

"We found nothing." the officer sadly stated; pretty upset about the fact that they could not find any lead about this mysterious murder.

"Huh! What do you mean by you found nothing, officer?" Y/n questioned the officers while looking at them with fury in her eyes; she was getting mad at the officers as they could not find anything about this case.

"We searched from fingerprints that day, but we honestly didn't find any. We thought the killer must have used gloves while committing the crime but however the predator might have attacked your parents, like with very long claws, it would've been very difficult for them to hunt with gloves on. So, the gloves part, it- it doesn't make sense." the officer explained.

"Is there any possibility that the predator had no fingerprints or paw prints or whatever the fuck you call it?" Y/n asked irritated.

"It is possible that the killer might not have had prints on their hands like us but we still can't draw a conclusion out of it. We still don't know what it could have been that killed your parents."

Y/n sat there silently with the officers for some good minutes when one of them broke the silence.

"Were you going somewhere?"

"Ah, yes. I am leaving this house." Y/n replied while sadly looking around the house; this was the place she had spent all her life and now she was leaving it just because some random psychotic moron that could fly was obsessed with her.

"Oh, that's good. This place holds many negative vibes now. Anyway, we'll get going, and do contact us in case of any emergency."

With that said, they bid their goodbyes and Y/n closed the door behind them. As she turned around to look at the house, she felt all her childhood memories running in her mind. She was upset and was eaten up by sorrow but she knew she had to leave before 'dragon eyes' came back. She quickly went back to her bedroom to see if she has taken everything and once she was satisfied, she left the house.
