♕ Hijo de la Luna ♕
Luna Bay had disappeared behind a mist of ocean breeze. The three of them had watched as it became smaller and smaller until they could no longer see anything but miles of ocean ahead. Skylar had placed the palm of their hand on his shoulder, and Asher wondered if both of them could too feel the fear staring to tear into their gut as they sailed away. They left her there. Alive. Breathing.
No guarantee of what her rage would do to those on her way back to Blackstone. Asher had enough scars in his body now to know Nerezza was not one to contain her own emotions. Someone would pay for what they did to her. And he could only wish, pray... that all of Luna Bay was smart enough to hide from her path.
Skylar cleared their throat. "There's only two rooms below deck"
Asher looked around. Jax's ship was one of the smaller ones he'd seen and been on, yet it seemed to be in much better conditions than the ones he'd sailed at Goldcrest.
"We'll flip for who gets one for themselves"
"I told you I'll just stay up here" Jax said. Even with his back towards him Asher could feel his eyes roll.
"Shut up Jax. You need sleep as much as the rest of us" Skylar took a coin out of their coat, and walked up to Asher. "Moon or Star?"
"Star" he answered. Skylar flipped the coin, it landed on two small stars close to each other.
"Jax?" Sky asked.
"Moon" Sky flipped the coin, it landed on star again. Skylar grinned amused.
"So you'll share with one of us"
"Whatever" Jax said.
"So if I get moon I'll get a room for myself, if I get star I'll share the room with you" Skylar said and before either could argue the coin flipped in the air. .

Nights were longer at sea. That's what he realized as both Jax and him stayed quiet in the two bed room. It was bigger than he'd thought it'd be, and for that at least he was thankful. Two days had passed with Jax refusing to enter the room, and then as the rain had started pouring above the main deck, he had finally stepped inside, barely glaring at Asher already settled on the left side of the room before throwing himself on the individual mattress across him.
It did not matter to him if Jax did not particularly liked him. He could understand, for the way Jax saw Skylar, that he must've not been in favor of them rescuing him without any sort of proof Asher would've turned up to be a kind enough person, a prince different to the king his father had been.
Yet Sky had been willing to take that bet, for Sybilla perhaps, but had done it anyway. And then Asher had led Nerezza straight to the heart of the city they both would die protecting.
No, it did not matter to him if Jax liked him, he understood his reasons perfectly well. Yet he could no stand to be in a room with him and not want to thank him for choosing to help him, for choosing to leave his home. Specially when he clearly would have rather been anywhere else.
Asher took his hands out of his pockets and cleared his throat.
"Look, this is uncomfortable for me too but-"
"I'm not uncomfortable" Jax said, and turned towards him. "Why should I be?"
"Uh" Asher said, his mind blank.
"Sorry, I forgot who I was talking too. Of course you've never had to share a room in your life" Jax turned around again, as if the conversation had ended.
