His to Serve

Chapter Seventy-One - The North

I pushed starlight on as we reached the town, Hyde riding quietly behind me. He didn't question me as I leapt off my horse and opened out my arms, every door in town opening as I called out, walking into the middle of the town square, my shoes leaving bloody footprints as I walked.

"People of Ezerene, do not be afraid, come out of your houses, I will not harm you. You may have heard the whisperings of the Queen, the one who is prophesied to bring a new world, to free you all from the tyranny of the Original vampires, that is me" I called out as people began to gather, watching me with a mixture of hope and fear,

"I am here to bring you a new purpose, to remove those who have continually pushed you down. Who have stolen from you, who have kept you down here in poverty whilst they shower in riches. I am the same as you for once I was known simply as the silverback assassin" I said as gasps echoed throughout the square, "And I swear it, I will bring down these high and mighty kings and I will bring you the world you deserve." I vowed as Hyde stood tall next to me,

"I am here today to give you a choice. Join me in a new land, with me as your Queen. I do not promise that it will be easy, but I will treat you fairly and give you what you need to live, and I will never lie to you, steal from you or enjoy the luxuries these vampires have continually stolen from us."

"In return all I ask from you is that you will join me in getting revenge on these selfish leaders, the ones who have left you on your own, in poverty, with no food, no money and no support. They are the ones who you have suffered under for millennia, it is time to break that life, and I want to create a new path. One where we can all live together, free and peacefully. But first I will need you to fight for me, to bring down this disgusting legacy once and for all".

More people began flooding out of their house as they gathered around me listening quietly,

"I am Lillian Silverback; the silverback assassin and I was the mate of the King. I have the power to kill those who deserve it and I want to restart this world, where those who deserve it can be on top. With me we can rule this world, and make it our own, free from the rules and constraints of the rich on the poor,"

"All I am asking for is your loyalty and I will treat you as if you are my own family. Women and children, leave those who oppress you, leave your shitty lives in which you have no chance in changing. Young men, leave your fate which is controlled by those in the castle. And men who are forced to fight in battles you never started or cared for, leave that behind. Everyone, make your choice and join me, join a life which can finally be your own. I offer this once and once only, this is your chance to be free of the authority that has controlled centuries of your families lives" I said as people began to look at me, talking amongst themselves,

"I promise to be fair, and there may be times where we need to fight to get what we want, but it will be for a better future for our children, for our people. We will start a new life far away, but we will return here one day, and I will take command of this world, changing it for the better, changing it to help us. Now who will join me" I yelled as people began to clap and cheer, smiling up at me,

Before I knew it the town had dropped to one knee, their heads bowed in front of me. A woman stood up as I tilted my head at her and beckoned her forwards, "Your highness, we have heard whispers throughout the towns of your coming, but what about our families in other parts of the world?" She said as I smiled, gripping her hand,

"This will not be a one day job, but I promise all those who are chained and used by the kings throughout the realm will be free when I am done. That I swear to you" I said as she bowed deeply,

I smiled as I turned opening my hands as gritted my teeth concentrating, as I held them out a portal opened, I turned to them as I held out my hand,

"Touch my hand and enter the portal, there we will rebuild this world. But be warned, I will not accept traitors or those who wish to harm me. You will not live to see the world I create" I warned as people began to push forward towards me, gathering their belongings,

As they each touched my hand I pushed my power through, placing a small mark on them all, and once they were clear I sent them through the portal. I felt a drain begin on my body as I grit my teeth and pushed through.

However as the people continued, I felt a prickling on my spine as a man walked up to me, I tilted my head as I noticed him begin to sweat and I narrowed my eyes as he whipped out a dagger and plunged it towards my chest, causing people around me to scream. I quickly placed a hand on his forehead as he yelled out and immediately turned into dust,

People stepped back gasping as I turned to face them, Hyde stepped forwards as he held his arms out, "People of Ezerene, The Queen is a fair leader and she will treat those who are honest with the respect they deserve, however we will not forget nor will we forgive. That will be your only warning" he said as I lifted my head high and we continued letting the people through,

Hyde looked at me as he raised his eyebrow slightly, clearly wondering where the portal led. "Well thanks to your history lessons, there is an old abandoned castle in the north from the old King who once ruled before the werewolves took over. Now that the wolves are scattered I am claiming it as mine. There is no ruler there, so I don't have to worry about killing anyone. That is where we shall start, it has been a while since the North has had a ruler, also it helps that the head witch colony is located there." I said to him as he nodded,

"Very well Lillian. I will go and make sure its abandoned before we take the people there, then I will lead them there and wait for you to arrive" he said as I gave him a curt nod,

I looked at Hyde as he slightly bowed to me and walked through the portal to the other side behind the last person who walked through as I felt the power of Brand and Damien walk up behind me,

Hyde looked at me through the portal, rage filling his features as I dropped my hands, immediately closing it.

I turned around to face Damien and Brand as I crossed my arms and lifted my head high. I lifted my eyes as I narrowed them, challenging them to make a move.

"Try and stop me. These people all left of their own free will. I told you I would change this world, it's just turned out to be a different method than I thought, but it works. Before long I will have spread the word and no one will support your rule. I am coming for what is mine, it was in the prophecy remember? I am the one to inherit the world, and my bloodline will forever reign true" I said dryly as they looked at each other horror on their face,

"Lillian stop, the magic is clouding your emotions. You don't really want to do this, you don't want another war. This is everything you have been fighting for the past few months, please" Damien pleaded holding out his hand as I shook my head at him and stepped away from his grasp,

"it's a bit late for this now Damien, you all fucked up. I'm not just a weak human anymore, and that scares you" I warned as I flicked my hair over my shoulder, "You two don't frighten me anymore, and you can no longer control me. I'm stronger than anything I felt for either of you and there is no bond on this earth that is going to change that" I growled as I looked away,

"As I said, I will get my revenge, and I'm coming for you and your kingdom. That is my destiny, and nothing is going to stop it now. I will take this kingdom and this world, and I will become the ruler it deserves. I finally understand what I am meant to do, and I'm not afraid of it anymore." I said as Damien grimaced, pain evident on his face,

"Lillian stop this. It doesn't have to be this way, please come back to me. I don't want to fight you" Brand said quietly as I walked up to him narrowing my eyes, "What is it your highness, afraid of a challenge, are you scared of a woman?" I whispered as I walked around him dragging my finger across his chest,

They turned following me as I flicked my wrist disappearing and reappearing behind them where I was stood before,

They quickly spun as I smirked and began to walk away. I felt the floor rumble and crack beneath me as I pushed my hands down and lifted into the air, my magic flowing around me,

"You're going to have to do more than that Brand if you're going to kill me." I said he sighed looking at the floor, he got down on his knee as I watched him, emotionless,

"Lillian please, don't leave me. Come back, we can fix this, I can help you get through this" he said as I flicked my hand sending him sprawling across the ground straight through a house behind him. I lifted my head holding back my tears as bit my lip, Brand crawling out of the rubble as he coughed.

"There is nothing you can do now. You broke your promise, you created me. Now you must deal with the consequences" I said as I looked down at them collecting my emotions as my face remained unreadable.

"I will see you soon boys, I'm coming back for my throne" I said as I turned and flew off through the air, heading towards the North. Leaving them behind me.

Leaving Lillian Silverback, the fragile little girl who had once competed to save her life, who had suffered protecting her family, who believed that love was real behind me.

That girl had died the minute Bethany took her last breath, now I was. Their worst fucking nightmare.

I was the Erebus.

Damien POV
I sighed slumping onto my knees as she flew off, disappearing into the clouds and I held my head in my hands as I felt sick to my stomach, my heart almost tearing out of my chest.

Lillian was gone.

She wasn't the woman I had gone into battle with this morning, an evil unfeeling power-hungry monster was in her place, and she was coming for us. For all of us.

I turned to Brand as he looked at me, no emotion on his face. I frowned as I stood up and looked at him, "Brand what do we do now?" I said as he walked away towards the castle,

"There is not much we can do Damien, but find her and either kill her, or get her back to my Lillian" he said calmly as I felt my stomach twist, bile rising in my throat at his words.

"Kill her? Are you fucking insane, that's your mate you are talking about. Does she mean nothing to you?!" I hissed as Brand turned to me anger all over his face,

"No she isn't, that monster there isn't Lillian, she is nothing like Lillian. Lillian is gone. That is a power hungry and revenge driven thing that will kill us all and take away this land from me" he said as Evelyn ran up to us, her cheeks still wet from tears,

I glared at her as I pushed past not saying a word, hatred pouring out of every cell in my body, she had seen it. She knew what was going to happen and she did nothing to stop it. "Damien stop it, I couldn't tell her, I wasn't allowed, it had to happen, there was nothing I could do" she said as I continued walking away,

"She had to unleash, I couldn't interfere, I didn't want to do it, please believe me." she sobbed as I halted,

"Bethany was too high a price Evelyn" I said as she fell onto the floor crying, "She was my best friend Damien, she is my best friend, and I'm not giving up on her, Brand may have but I refuse to. She's in there. And I promised to never leave her" she said as I turned to her,

"What are you saying?" I said as she looked up at me, "I'm saying we drag our Lillian out and bring her back, before she destroys us all."
