Chapter Sixty-Nine - Sword

I clutched my shoulder tightly, desperately trying to stop the bleeding from Dagger's bite as I quickly wrapped it up, gritting my teeth at the harsh pain that rushed throughout my body. Blood coated my hand as I felt the world sway slightly and a harsh pulse rush through my head. Bethany pushed starlight on, away from Hale as I gripped on tight, at fear of sliding straight off.

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?! I THOUGHT I MADE IT CLEAR I WOULD SIGNAL YOU IF I NEEDED YOU!?" I screamed in panic as she turned back looking at me, concern written all over her face as she analysed me head to toe,

"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN!? IM CLEARLY HERE TO SAVE YOUR FUCKING ASS!?" she yelled back as a vampire ran straight for us and I quickly leant forwards, grabbing a knife from her waist as I flung it, hitting him in the chest as he fell backwards with a loud yell,

"No why are you here, I didn't call you. I thought I made the rules pretty fucking clear?" I said in her ear as I reached back and grabbed a dagger from starlights side and swung it around, cleanly taking the head off a werewolf fighting a witch as we passed them,

She turned to face me as I turned back to her, quickly wiping the blood off my face and tucking the dagger behind my back,

"I'm not a fucking idiot Lillian" she growled at me as she narrowed her eyes, "Duck" she quickly said as I leant backwards and she tossed a knife clean over my body, knocking down a vampire coming up behind us,

"Hyde came and collected me, he's the one who brought me here" she said, turning back and gripping the reins tight as my blood ran cold, my grip growing slack as I almost slid off onto the ground.

I shook my head as she weaved through the chaos, "That's not possible Bethany, Hyde hasn't left the battle" I said deadly calm as her shoulder tensed up and she turned to look at me, horror on her features,

Before we could think about it any longer Starlight was thrown to the side and we were sent sprawling onto the floor, both of us digging knives in the floor as we swung around on our knees and looked up at what had sent us flying. Starlight cried out in pain as I watched her slide through the crowd, sending people from both sides flying,

"LILLIAN CONCENTRATE" Bethany screamed as I ripped my eyes away from my horse,

I looked to see that Hale was rushing towards us, his fangs bared and I looked at Bethany as she nodded, "KILL BOX" I yelled as we stood up and ran straight for him. Bethany ran around through the chaos as I continued forwards, both us of surrounding him,

I ran straight at him as I jumped at the last moment, my feet connecting with his chest as I pushed him back and dropped onto my back, rolling my body over landing on my knees as he stumbled slightly off balance. Bethany leapt onto his shoulders as she swung around digging her knife into his neck as she continued around and flung him straight onto the floor,

She rolled off as he howled loudly and his eyes turned blood red looking at us, his lip quivering with anger. He flicked his head up as we both grinned, circling him menacingly. I ran forwards again as I brought my sword up blocking his first hit and Bethany ran from behind slicing him straight down the back as he howled out and I twirled under his arm, dragging the blade cleanly across his abdomen,

We took turns in slashing and stabbing him again and again as he stumbled around, unable to stabilise himself even for a second to hit us. He had no chance of recovering before the next one of us was taking a hit, drawing more blood from his body as the snow-stained a deep red underneath him.

He staggered slightly as we both tensed, pausing to assess the damage we had done. Hale spat onto the floor as he growled deeply, his eye's small black slits as I gripped the blade tight in my hand. "Who the fuck do you think you insignificant humans are, to challenge me?! I have never lost a fight, and I'm not going to beg to two little whores like you" he growled as I grit my teeth,

"I AM THE GOD DAMNED LEADER OF THE ROGUE VAMPIRES, I HAVE REIGNED LONGER THAN YOU HAVE LIVED. I WILL DESTROY YOU BOTH" he screamed, his teeth blood red as I watched him stagger again slightly, clutching his side.

I nodded at Bethany as I ran at him sliding onto the smooth ground and slicing straight through his leg causing him to fall onto the floor in agony, his body finally collapsing. As he did, Bethany reached down grabbing my hand and dragging me up onto my feet as we walked over to him, breathing deeply.

We stood over him as I pulled out a stake and Bethany twirled her sword between her hands. He lifted his head as I pressed my foot onto his chest pushing him into the floor, blood oozing out around him as his breath came out in short harsh pants, his eyes desperately searching our faces as fear finally set in,

I leant down to him as I smirked, "You made a big mistake fucking with a Silverback. Now burn in hell you bastard" I growled as his eyes widened before I plunged the stake deep into his chest and Bethany whirled the blade, slicing off his head.

I let out a deep breath as his head finally stopped rolling around and Bethany held out her hand, once again pulling me to my feet. She gently held me as I winced at the pain still flowing through my body from Dagger's bite, Bethany quickly bandaging me up. As I looked around I saw Damien flying overhead and I called out, picking up Hales head and throwing it to him,

He grinned widely as he launched it across the field, it eventually landing right at Magda's feet, I pointed my sword at her through the battle as I growled,

"YOUR NEXT" I yelled at her as she let out a bloodcurdling scream and pushed her hand forwards, summoning more and more around us. Me and Bethany turned back-to-back as vampires and werewolves began surrounding us and I gripped my dagger tighter,

"Gods, it's just like the good old times" she joked as I laughed, shaking my head, "Now is not the time for jokes, we have been placed in a kill box of our own" I said as I surveyed the scene surrounding us. I felt the wound on my shoulder finally heal up as I cracked my neck, taking a deep breath. "Ready to actually do some work?" I said as I felt her tense behind me,

I saw my other discarded dagger on the floor next to Matthias as I yelled out his name and he turned to look back, he noticed it as he nodded and flung it across the field to me as he quickly ducked and gripped a vampires head, ripping it clean off their shoulders.

I reached out as I caught the blade perfectly and I turned to face Bethany, "You ready?" I said as the group around us drew closer,

"You bet" she said as I grinned and twirled the blades in my hands, clanging them lightly together, "let's do it then" I said through gritted teeth as the first ones lunged for us, we circled each other, our backs pressed as our blades rung through the air, blood flying as we sliced them down,

"Duck" Bethany called as she swung the sword around above my head and I quickly stood back up plunging my daggers into the chest of the werewolf near me,

I kicked him off my blades as I turned slashing them around and around, and in the end we were left with a circle of dead vampires and werewolves around us, blood coating our faces and bodies as we breathed deeply,

She turned to me as I checked her over and wiped her face as best I could, her beautiful blonde hair now stained with crimson flecks. I wiped my blades on the floor as I quickly twirled them onto my back and we assessed the scene around us.
