The next couple of days passed in quiet and friendship.
The press conference's footage was streaming on all over the media, and you had to step out from your social networks for a while, as your inbox was literally bursting with messages. Not a big deal anyway, as you spent nearly entirely your daytime between the training rooms, where Loki was coaching you quite hard, and the laboratory, where Tony and Bruce had helped you restart your researches on tissues regeneration. There was a lot to focus on and to be happy for, so your mood was pretty high.
*
On Friday evening, the team started to pile up in the kitchen for dinner and found Loki...cooking. He was humming happily facing the kitchen counter, dealing with what appeared to be a huge baking tray of pizza.
Stark and Rogers where the first to come in the room, and frozen on the doorstep at the scene. They exchanged a worried look before looking warily around the place: they were highly surprised in seeing everything looked pretty good and a delicious smell was filling the air.
"Errr, Loki?!" Rogers cautionary called him, stepping further into the kitchen. It was well known that the two asgardian boys were a complete mess on chores and a mute consensus had been reached about the fact they were both exempted to cook, for the safety of the team and the entire tower.
"Yes?" Loki turned to face them, tossing his hands together so that a small cloud of flower spread around, a wide grin on his face. Tony and Roger looked at him warily, while Natasha, Clint and Banner joined in, stepping frozen as well halfway to the dining table.
"Easy to trick you, uh?" Thor boomed out, laughing while entering the room as last.
"What do you mean?" Stark questioned him with his usual annoyed tone. "I know my brother's tricks since we were two babies, Stark, and I think I can say I am able to recognise him very well, even when he is disguised." He smirked, pointing at Loki's direction. "And this is not Loki."
Everyone spun around and surveyed Loki more carefully, head to toes.
Your shape blurred and you reassumed your natural form, giggling child-like.
Loki materialised right at your side, wrapping his arm around your shoulders. "Lady Y/N is learning spectacularly. She is just the perfect student." he grinned proudly, looking down at you and squeezing you lightly in his arm. "She mastered the conjuring spell so quickly that we already moved to shape-shifting". You blushed lightly, partly for the praise, partly for being wrapped in his arm.
The team looked at you open mouthed for a moment, before blinking hard and bursting into a laugh. Natasha came closer and poked at your shoulder in disbelief, before looking up at you with a highly surprised expression. Everyone cheered your piece of magic while taking seat at the table.
"Great job, Y/N!" Rogers placed lightly an hand on your shoulder, congratulating.
"Just what we needed... another troublesome magic user in the house." Tony huffed while sitting. "Hey Reindeer Games, please, don't tell me she can now also cast duplicates..."
"No, they're two completely different powers." Loki started, freeing you from his grip and pacing to take his seat; you slipped from his side and went to put the baking tray in the oven.
"Duplication-casting entails recreating an exact facsimile of one's own body in its present circumstance, which acts as a true holographic mirror of its molecular structure." Loki had put on his I-know-all tone, and apparently the rest of the team was already accustomed to receive unasked lectures, as they all slightly frowned and rolled their eyes. Only Banner listened with sincere interest and curiosity.
"Okay, okay, take a breath." Stark babbled rubbing the back of his head. The other bursted in a laugh and you joined gleefully.

It was just when the dinner was over, and you had all settled in the living room with the intention to watch a new movie, that Jarvis' voice called from the ceiling: "Incoming call for Captain Rogers." Steve left the room at quick pace and you saw the other casting worried looks at each other.
*
"We have been called out" Roger called loudly few minutes later, peering in the kitchen from the living room, already in his uniform.
You were impressed by how quickly the team assembled. Natasha clipped in a couple of guns and rushed to Roger side. Clint had already shouldered arc and arrows before you even had the time to wonder from where he took them. Stark called his iron suit which assembled quickly on his body, the elmet as last. Mjolnir flew across the room and Thor grabbed it with his raised hand and used it to summon his armour.
"Nothing big, but we must go. Bruce, this is not a code green, so you can stay" Roger told firmly looking at ceiling. Banner let out a sigh of relief and gladly informed the rest of you that he would have come downstairs in the lab.
"Y/N, we will let Jarvis alert you when we will come back" Roger added in your direction. You bolted up out of the chair you were sitting on, scowling and nodding at him. You were went through thousand of similar situations during the days at the hospital, and still you felt nervous and uncomfortable: knowing to have to deal with the Avengers' health afterward a battle suddenly appeared as a huge responsibility on your shoulders.
Loki was already in his armour too, a glitch of green light still shimmering on him, but Rogers pointed his shield at his chest. "Not you, Loki. You stay here with Y/N."

You looked the team disappearing in the elevator standing frozen the like a statue of ice, and you whipped around even you heard Loki's sensual, smooth voice behind you.
"Looks like it will be just the two of us, tonight" Loki said the moment the elevator's doors closed.
"So, what's the plan?" He added grinning, a malicious hint in his glimmering eyes. "Don't worry, they will be fine" he tried to sooth your anxiety and dissipate the worried face you had put on.
Jeez, how he looked good in his armour.
You bit your lower lip to shake away that though from your mind. "Err...Fancy to see a film?" It was the first though that came.
He paced elegantly across the room ahead to the couches, grabbed the remote control from the small table and turned out the main lights of the room, leaving just a couple of small lamps on. He invited you to take seat with a gesture of his hand.
It was not of course the first time you were alone with him, but typically it was because you were down in the training rooms, or because you were the first two ones to show up for meals. That was the first time the house was basically empty, it was evening and he was looking you maliciously out of dim light.
That changed a lot of things."Will you mind to change in normal clothes?" You couldn't help to half laughing at his perplexed glance. "What's wrong with these ones?" He politely asked, looking down at his leather armour. You giggled "I pick the film. You change." you told him walking past, taking the remote control gently from his hands and going to sunk on the couch before the TV. You felt his eyes following you along the way and a small shiver went down your spine.
"How's this?" You jumped when you turned to look at him and your face changed a couple of shade of red. He was simply awesome: he was standing barefooted, arms crossed on his chest, with a forest green shirt that brought out the green in his eyes and was tight enough to let see the outline of his chest, and a pair of black sweatpants. His black, shoulder-length hair were tucked behind his ears, apart from a couple of strands that were framing his jawline. He was half smiling with that breathtaking mischievous grin typical of him.
He had to clear his voice to make you blink and focus again on reality.
"I take your glance as a positive answer" he teased, chuckling, and took place on the couch in the spot near yours.
