The team started to assemble quickly, as usual, in the meantime Steve was getting some details over the phone. Clint and Natasha clipped their guns while they rushed back in the living room, dressed in their black armours. The iron man suit wrapped around Tony's body and he leaned to kiss Pepper keeping his elmet under his arm. Thor was flipping his hammer in the air, nonchalantly waiting his fellows to be ready.
"Loki, Bruce, you must come too this time" Steve called to get their attention, snapping his phone closed and putting it back into his pocket. "Sorry, Y/N, but we need to be all there. Can you stay home with Pepper?" Steve told you apologetically, not missing that you were looking around quite concerned. Bruce winced and reluctantly stepped at Steve's side.
"Finally! He is supposed to help in some way, other that lounging around pretending to be a college teacher." Clint added with a grin at Loki, who rolled his eyes in reply.
Loki changed in his armour suit with a glitch of magic, his helmet shining in the lights of the living room. Before he could leave, you grabbed his forearm. It was not the first time he was going on a mission with the team, but still it was hard to see him go.
He gave you a warm smile, appreciating your concern. "You know I will be fine." He said softly, laying his hand gently on yours. "Do I have to remind you another time I have been out on plenty of missions before... over the centuries?" he chuckled softly at your over concerned look.
"C'mon Reindeer Games! You can ask her for a date when we will be back!" Stark voice boomed and Loki growled at him. He gave you a wink before turning and rushing to join the team.
You and Pepper waived them all before the elevator doors closed, praying they will be ok and back soon.

Everyone was pretty injured when they came back, but nothing you couldn't fix easily and quickly. Only Clint had a bullet shot on his right shoulder which took few more of your energy to reseal. Why on the hell Clint got shot at every mission, anyway?
The guys were visibly tired by the long night, and when you had done with them, they thanked you and started to pile out the infirmary, most reasonably headed to bed. "Pepper, Tony had a tough week. Be gentle with him tonight" you openly teased Tony, who dramatically rolled his eyes at the joke and wrapped Pepper to walk her out of the room. She simply laughed and kissed his cheek.
"Y/N?" Loki reached you, checking if you were ok after having healed the team. "Mmh?" You looked up at him, eyes still a little bit glazed by the usage of you magic. "I was wondering... can I show you a thing?" He was strangely anxious, nervous, when he asked that question. "Now? Okey..." you were tired, too, but you couldn't say no when he had almost pleaded with his glance. Plus, there must have been something going on in his mind if he had asked such mysterious thing just after a battle, and in the exact moment you two were left alone.
He smiled happily, and grabbed gently your hand "Hold tight" he whispered in your ear and you felt his magic shimmering within your body as he teleported you both.

When you reopened your eyes, safely hauled by Loki's hand, your heart jumped in your throat.
You were on the rooftop of the tower and the view from there was simply breathtaking: the entire NY city was glittering below your eyes, the Empire State Building, the One World Trade Center and the Top of the Rock lights standing out from the skyline; the sky full of stars above your head was even more brilliant.
His armour glittered away, and was replace by more comfortable clothes, his green shirt partially covered by a dark leather jacket. He must have summoned also your jacket, as you saw it shimmering in place the moment your feet touched the ground. You got the reason for that when a quite fresh breeze made your long hairs whipping slightly around you.
