Frigga lead the way to a smaller, elegant room and gestured over a bunch of plushy couches, cornered around a big window that opened to a marvelous garden full of green trees and rose bushes. A couple of maids appeared out of nowhere, served some tea and food, and bowed before leaving the room, closing the door behind their shoulders. You settled in a couch beside Loki, and Thor dropped into the one across from yours, right aside from Frigga.

"I can see why it had been so hard for my son to explain you, dear" Frigga started, and you cast a questioningly side glance at Loki, who's skidded to the ceiling and landed down to his lap sooner enough, half-hidden cause he was mock-scratching the back of his ear.

"So, I will go ahead and do the honor."

The more Frigga deeper her explanation, the more your eyes widened and your breath weakened.

"Asgardians are well aware of magic and have studied it for millennia. Our transportation, architecture, weapons, and even medical care are based upon using a blend of magical forces and technology. Individuals like Loki, and myself, are able to tap into otherworldly forces to gain abilities beyond that of other Asgardians through sorcery, and the same used to happen for Eir, our goddess of peace and health."

"When the war ages on Midgard raged, Eir asked Odin to go there to help the humans. She healed thousands of people with her abilities and when the wars ended, she decided to give a spark of her powers to some of them to carry on her mission, but she sealed her magical gifts for them to appear and grew just in case of real need. This is a heritage, a boon passed on in generations."

"Are... sorry, are you saying I am coming from one of the families having her... well, gift?"

"No, not actually dear." Frigga sighed turning to meet Loki's hard glance. It looked like it was as much hard for her to explain as for you to understand, and even more to Loki not to jump at the conclusion of it.

"Your powers were designed to promote peace and health, so when you deliberately used them to destroy and kill, your magic opened up to a different, greater level of it. That much level of power should have killed each mortal being channeling it."

"I... I really apologize, I don't think I understand..." you stammered at her, blanching, trying helplessly to steel yourself but fighting for air.

"Eir never came back home. She fell in love with a man, and they remained to live on Midgard with the two children they had. She sealed their powers, as well."

"A-... I-..."

"Darling... what Mother is trying to say, it that you have the seidr." Loki supplied nervously, stiffing uncomfortable on his spot, but wishing for you to understand. He cupped the top of your hands, to stop your fingers pinching nervously to the skin of your thumbs, which were already bleeding.

"And you're part Asgardian per heritage."

You whipped to stare at him as he had just slipped a curse in front of his mother, rather than the truth behind the origin of your powers. Thor turned to his mother equally surprised, and she nodded at him firmly.

That hit you hard.

You couldn't believe what you were hearing.

If not for the fact you had taken for granted that you were in front of one of the most powerful witches in the Nine Realms and Master of Magic, who was nodding patiently and silently at your shocked face, you would have tough that was just craziness. Or that they were all drunk. Although, you had lived with Loki long enough to be able to tell a lie when you heard one, and that's wasn't one.

"Loki... How long did you know?!?!"

Loki's face fell on a very tense, guilty expression. Not knowing how, he found the audacity to meet your gaze and show you his entire collection of teeth, in the most awkward smile you ever saw on him.
