On September end, you had been ask to give a talk at the Presbyterian Hospital: your researches were selected, among variuos others, for being presented at the annual NY medical conference. Loki of course offered to escort you, and was able to somehow soothe your agitation during the week before the event.
"Ready, darling?" Loki lowered his sunglasses on his nose while turning to you, and reached his hand across the back seat of the SUV to squeeze lightly yours. "Yeah, it will be good. These kind of events are never super crowd-" your jaw fallen on your lap once the car pulled you in front of the conference building.
Paparazzi were packed outside the main door and you were immediately surrounded by camera flashes and undistinguished questions once you stepped out the car, Loki's hand hauling elegantly on your feet.
Stepping into the lobby didn't help that much, as
your arrival drawn so much attention, as a wave of murmuring filled completely the air."Dr. Y/L/N! How nice to meet you again! How are you doing?" Dr. Pickens, your former chief, was the first one to came around to greet you and you gave him a genuine smile "Chief!" "Oh, I am no more your boss, unlucky for me and the unit" he shaken your hand vigorously before turning to your date. "And the guy here should be..." "Loki, Laufeyson." Loki half-bowed "My pleasure to meet you Dr. Pickens, Y/N told me a lot of your adventures." "Ah, our good Y/N did not completely forget about us, at least! I can tell you some funny stories about her later on, stories that would make your hairs turn grey! But please, come with me now, we are going to start in few minutes."
There were way too many attenders and press packed within the room, that you could hardly rememeber an audience being so excited in the past years. Many heads whipped simultaneously when you stepped in, and the babble of voices grew steadily louder as the crow came pouring into the room and took notice of your presence there. You started to feel uncomfortable, and instinctively grabbed Loki's hand, squeezing it far to thigh.
Loki got quite pissed off seeing all the eyes on you, but instead of becaming the stabbing version of himself, he remained calm and smiling. He helped you taking off your jacket and folded it over his right arm, before taking your hand and laying it gently on the crook of his other arm, walking you through the crowd in a very elegant way. The murmuring followed you for all the small procession ahead to the stage and Loki pulled your seat for you and even lifted your hand to his lips, bowing over it to kiss the back of your hand before leaving you onto stage and going to take place in the platea.
When you stood up and reached the podium to talk, you couldn't help to giggle seeing Loki blinking in your direction, nonchalantly sitting cross-legged in the audience. That definitely gave the boost of confidence you needed for the speak.
At the socialising moment that followed the talks, you introduced Loki to many of your former colleagues and you spent a couple of hours in little talks with them. It was nice to meet them again. All the girls gave you applauding glances when they though Loki wasn't looking: if not his way too much good looking appearance, surely his gentleman and over-romantic gestures were not gone unnoticed.

You took the chance of being out to ask for being driven off to you loft and spend the night there. After stepping out of the car, you turned around and lent into the passenger window of the SUV "Thank you Happy. Can you tell Steve and the team we will stay here tonight?" "Sure miss Y/N" the well-built man replied suit, a beaming smile opened on his round face.

It was only mid-afternoon, but you were well fast asleep over Loki bare chest, the both of you taking a well deserved nap, when you were waken up by Loki's phone ringing from the small table on the corner of the bed room.
