You had a quick shower, changed in comfortable yoga pants and top and were trying to tide up your hair in a messy bun, completely lost in your thoughts, when a quiet knock came from the door.

When you opened it, Natasha peered in. "Good morning" she smiled cheerfully "You didn't show up at breakfast and I came to check if you were ok". She was always so kind. "Yes, sorry, I... quite didn't sleep tonight. The thunderstorm..." you tried to lie, but the reflex of rubbing behind your ear must have betrayed you, as she tilted her head and gave you a look. Mind note: never underestimate a professional spy.

"Mmm... no one told you that Jarvis is a blabbermouth, I guess?" She grinned widely and you felt your cheeks burning. "Plus the Trickster was such in a high mood at breakfast that he even missed to threaten to stab Stark for his bad jokes" she chuckled. Your cheeks blushed slightly, but your face fallen on a regretful expression.

"Oh, no worries, we tough you were tired and let you sleep in. The others already left and... I am quite late for the training session." She added looking at her watch. "C'mon, I'll take you downstairs" she grabbed your forearm and drawn you out of the room.

*

Natasha left you in front of the training room B; she blinked maliciously and you rolled your eyes behind her back, watching her turning on her heels, walk away and entering a door at the end of the corridor.

The room was very blank, with white walls apart for one which was basically an enormous glass window wall, which let in the natural sun light. On the right of the door, a bench was covering half of the length or the room, ending near some lockets and a huge vending machine that looked more like a fridge.

You tiptoed shyly into the room and were somewhat disappointed in founding that... you were alone. You started to pace around wondering what to do, thinking about why Loki gave you an appointment and didn't bother to show up.

You jumped and shrieked when you finally noticed him laying beside the doorway, arms folded and his typical grin on the face. You must have missed the fact that he had materialized there and he was surveying you while you were pacing round like an idiot.

You cast him an awestruck look "Can you stop making me startle?" "You may want to keep you guard far more high that that, my dear" he teased you and you huffed back.

He was looking absolutely divine in his forest-green shirt, black training pants and black combat-boots. You crossed that thing out of your mind immediately.

"Is that my first lesson? Teleportation?" You asked excitedly, but at the same dreading he would ask you to do something that looked like very difficult.

"We may want to start with something easier" He laughed again and he reached you out, his footstep unexpectedly light and silent in the empty, echoed room; his movement elegant, almost regal. Well, regal, full stop. He came closer enough for you to feel his mint scent and perceive his chest's breathing movements. A ray of sunlight coming in from the window-wall hit his eyes, making them even greener and brighter...

He slightly tilted his head and put on a curios expression, like he was trying to understand what you were thinking about. Was he a mind reader? You couldn't remember by heart, but wisely decided to give him his undivided attention before your brain would had decided to slip on too much unappropriated things.

He smirked at your blinking and at the fact you had cleared steeled yourself.

He showed you his hand, palm up. You looked down and with a quick shimmer of green light, he summoned a dagger and opened slightly his fingers, so to allow you to see it completely. It was a short blade, highly polished, with a shot, golden hand-grip with a complex and very beautiful decoration engraved in it. You never saw something similar before. "Pay attention" he warned you. He back-flipped the dagger in midair and caught back a perfect, green apple instead. When he closed his fist around the fruit and reopened his fingers, it was vanished.

You were staring open mouthed, in awe for the tricks. He cleared his voice to catch back your attention and when you finally looked up at him, his hornet helmet was shimmering on his head and he was smiling wide.

Wow!

You reached out your fingertips to touch one of the hornets, but hesitated. He was taller than you but he tilted his head so you could more easily reach. The hornet was cold, solid... real. He giggled delighted at your gleeful expression.

"How do you do that?" You asked with sincere curiosity "I mean, these are not objects around this room. Can you summon everything that goes in your mind?" "Within reasonable distance" he chuckled.

He leaned forward and took both your hands, gently flipping them so they were palm up in his and you felt a shiver running through your spine. "Close your eyes" he whispered, leaning even closer. You did it without question, trusting whatever he was up to.
