Spencer had stayed home for a few days with Evelyn, until they got a caae and he had to be there. luckily it was only about an hour away. Evelyn stayed home for the first day, Spencer eventually convincing her to come the next day. "you can even just stay with Penelope, you don't have to come into the field yet." Spencer said, trying to sell if even more, even though she had already agreed to going in. Evelyn laughed, a rare sound these past few days. "if hotch needs me in the field, I'm going with you guys." Evelyn declared. "okay, but don't push yourself too hard, okay?" Spencer said. Evelyn nodded. they chatted for a while longer before they both eventually ended up falling asleep on the couch. Evelyn groaned as she was blinded by the sun coming through the window. Spencer, who was currently the big spoon, squeezed her softly, letting her know he was up. "it's too early." she groaned, rolling over to face him. Spencer ran a hand through his hair, chuckling softly. "well get used to it because sometimes we have to get up even earlier." he says. "yea, i'm gonna have to pass on that." she says, using Spencers arm as a shield from the sun, closing her eyes, wanting to fall back asleep. "nope, you gotta get up." Spencer said, pulling his arm away. "sorry, can't hear you, I'm sleeping." she said as she pulled Spencers arm back over her eyes. Spencer laughs softly, pulling his arm away and carefully crawling over her, heading to the kitchen. Evelyn groans as he got up, finally getting up herself. "that couch is not comfortable." she said, massaging her shoulder. Spencer chuckles softly, starting the coffee pot. "go get dressed, I'll make breakfast." he said, Evelyn walking to her room and getting dressed. once she was fully ready, she came back out, Spencer fully ready as well, plating the last few pancakes. "pancakes? that's fancy." Evelyn said as she sat down, Spencer putting a plate of pancakes in front of her. she quickly thanked him and practically inhaled the pancakes. "jeez, slow down, you're gonna make yourself sick." Spencer said, Evelyn giving him a 'oh shush' look."aren't you going to get hot in that? we're in the middle of august." Spencer asked, noticing the layers. "I mean, probably, but im super insecure about my body now, since, y'know." Evelyn replied, not wanting to say it. "Im not sure if it helps, but I think you're beautiful. no matter what." 'yea, that helps. more than you know' she though to herself. "thanks." she said, smiling softly.  the drive to the BAU was silent, but a comfortable silence. Spencer had decided to drive instead of taking the subway, not wanting to stress Evelyn out. as soon as Evelyn walked into the BAU she was greeted with warm welcomes and bright faces. "we missed you!" Penelope exclaimed as she hugged her. "yea, I had to take a break for a couple days." she explained. they all knew why, but knew not to bring it up. "Evelyn I need to see you in my office." hotch says sternly, looking down into the bullpen. she nodded and walked up to his office, hotch shutting the door behind her. "I just wanted to apologize for the way I reacted when you told me you were pregnant. I didn't mean to upset you the way I did, I-" he rambled, Evelyn cutting him off. "it's okay. really. I shouldn't have blown up on you the way I did. so I'm sorry." she says, a slightly awkward silence falling  between them. "Spencer said I might be going in the field this case?" she says, not liking the silence. "there was talk of it at first, but I think it's best if we hold off until the next case." he said, Evelyn nodding, secretly happy she didn't have to go in the field just yet. Although she loved being in the field, she was also scared since the last time she was in the field was the case with Michael Reyes. "that's all I needed you for, I just wanted to apologize." hotch says, Evelyn once again nodding before heading out, back to the group. "I'm with you today penny g." Evelyn smiles, linking arms with her. Penelope gasps "yes!" she exclaims. "I may or may not return her to you boy wonder." she continued, pulling Evelyn to her bat cave. "I'll see you later today, spence." Evelyn laughed as Penelope pulled her away. once they were in her bat cave she sat Evelyn down. "okay spill everything that's happened since I last saw you." she says. "well everything you're comfortable with telling me." she continues, not wanting to pressure Evelyn. Evelyn laughs softly and began to tell her about her mini vacation which consisted mainly of cuddling with Spencer, watching movies and taking long hot baths. maybe being at the BAU would be more fun than it has been.
