a/n: this chapter takes place two months later on halloween. Evelyn is now 18 weeks along.

Today was halloween. Spencer, of course was as excited as could be. one because it was his favorite holiday and two because so far, the team had no cases. Evelyn had been having a blast working at the BAU, the team and her getting even closer each and every day. she had been going in the field, but due to her being pregnant either hotch or Spencer wouldn't let her do certain things. Evelyn had started to sleep in her own bed again, being able to sleep soundly through the night with little to no nightmares. on the nights she did have nightmares, she would either make herself a cup of tea and go back to bed, or crawl into Spencers bed. of course he didn't mind, he was more than happy to share his bed with her if it meant she felt safe. this past night was one of the nights she was able to soundly sleep through the night. she was gently awoken by someone playing with her hair. she opened her eyes slowly, trying not to be blinded by the sun. to her surprise, it was Spencer, who at some point crawled in her bed with her. "good morning." he softly said, running his hand through her hair. "nah I must be dreaming, you're a little too lovey dovey with me right now." she said closing her eyes, pretending to sleep. deep down (but actually not that deep) she liked how lovey dovey he was being, secretly wishing it was always like this. Spencer laughs, running a hand through her hair one last time before pulling away. she opens her eyes again, taking in his features for the millionth time. "now who's being too lovey dovey?" he joked with her, noticing her staring at him. "not my fault you're so attractive." she "half" jokes. of course she wasn't joking, but she couldn't have Spencer knowing that. Spencer laughs softly, finally getting up. "when did you come in here?" Evelyn asked as she watched him walk to the door. "like an hour ago. I was gonna wake you up, but you just looked so peaceful and not to get dark but finally at rest. nothing hurting you or stressing you out. like when we were kids. so I decided not to wake you up and just let you have that moment of peace where everything was okay." he slightly rambled, Evelyns heart practically melting. "that's actually really sweet of you." she said, deciding to get up as well. the rest of the day leading up to rossi's halloween party was spent in their pajamas, making food to bring over to rossi's and watching movies. Evelyn and Spencer had decided to go as Padmé and Anakin from the Star Wars franchise. they surprisingly were able to keep it a secret from the team, wanting to surprise them. once they had gotten ready (which took a lot longer than expected) they headed over, arriving fashionably late. "sorry we're late!" Spencer exclaimed as they walked in, both of them holding a tray of cookies. "it's about time you two showed up!" Derek exclaimed jokingly from the kitchen. they entered the kitchen, putting the trays down wherever there was empty space, feeling the team eyeing them as they set the trays down. "is this your guys's way of telling us you're finally a couple?" Penelope asks, her face lighting up, hopeful they would say yes. "unfortunately no, we just decided this would be a cool costume duo, since we bath love the movies." Spencer said. "what do you mean 'unfortunately'?" Evelyn asked, raising an eyebrow as she turned to look at him. "oh, uh nothing. I mean- they're always asking if we're together, I meant like unfortunately for them. y'know?" Spencer awkwardly stutters. Evelyn laughs, putting a hand on his shoulder. "I was joking. I knew what you meant." she didn't. the night was filled with laughter, good memories, drinking for everyone except Spencer and Evelyn. "ooo I have an idea!" Penelope exclaims, the team looking at her. "lets play truth or dare!" she exclaims excitedly, everyone nodding in agreement. soon it was Derek's turn. "Evelyn." Derek said. finishing the last of his beer. "truth or dare?" he asked, his perfect eyebrows raised. "dare." Evelyn said, slightly challenging him as this would be the first dare of the night. "I dare you" he starts, pointing the beer bottle at her. "to kiss whoever this bottle lands on." he smirks. "does anyone not want to participate in this dare?" Derek asks, looking around at everyone. JJ, Dave and Alex scoot away from the circle, leaving Penelope, Derek (who was confident is wasn't going to land on him), hotch and Spencer still in the circle. "okay." Derek says, snuggly looking at Penelope. 'you little bitch' Evelyn thought as she realized what they had done. Evelyn glared daggers at them as Derek spun the bottle, carefully articulating it so it would land on Spencer. however though, it had not landed on spencer. it had landed on Penelope. Evelyn smirked at Derek and Penelope when their little plan failed. although she had a major crush on Spencer and would definitely liked it to have landed on him, she was afraid he would suggest them to spin it again (although he probably wouldn't have because he's too nice), or it would make things between them awkward. "come here, PG!" Evelyn exclaimed practically launching herself at Penelope and over dramatically kissing her. once she pulled away, Penelope's lipstick was all over her face, which she wiped off. the whole team laughed at the sight, Evelyn sitting up, looking proud of herself. "okay Evelyn, your turn." Derek says. "Spencer." she said strictly, turning towards him. "truth or dare?" she asked, hoping he would pick dare. "mmmm, dare." he said. "I dare you to kiss whoever this bottle lands on." she challenged, secretly hoping it would land on Derek or hotch (if they stayed in) so she could embarrass him at random points. "okay anyone who doesn't want to participate, scoot away." she said. as soon as the words left her mouth, everyone scooted back, leaving just her and Spencer. "wait no that's not fair now it's not fun anymore." she pouts. "nah we're good, you two have fun though." Dave said. "okay well, change of plans. you can either kiss me, or jump in the pool. hey Dave is your pool heated?" Evelyn asks. "not at the moment, no." he said. "okay so those are your options cause everyone else is a wimp." she said, glaring at the rest of the team. Spencer looked over to the pool, standing up from his spot, beginning to walk over to the pool, of course everyone followed him, wanting to see this happen, Evelyn a little upset he chose jumping in an ice cold pool rathe than a tiny little kiss, but she also could understand why he chose that as well. "i'm sorry" Penelope said quietly to her as they followed Spencer to the pool. "it's okay, I shouldn't be upset about it. I mean we've known each other for so long, it might be a little weird kissing me." she says, reasoning with her. Spencer took off the heavy pieces of his costume, getting ready to jump in. just as he was about to jump, he turns around and kisses Evelyn, who happened to be right behind him, pulling her into the pool with him. the team laughs and whistles at the two as the resurfaced, Evelyn gasping for air as a reaction to the cold water. "you asshat!" Evelyn exclaimed, splashing water at Spencer. "hey hey, keep the water in the pool." rossi jokes as some icy water splashes onto the peanut gallery. they soon got out of the pool and dried off, thankful they kept their go bags in Spencers car. they quickly took (separate) showers to warm up and then changed, resuming the game until they decided it was time to go. they said their goodbyes to everyone, taking to-go plates with them. they laughed and chatted on the short walk to the car, immediately blasting the heat once they got in. the ride was a comfortable silence, Evelyn breaking it once they were back in Spencer's apartment. "y'know you only had to do one dare right? not both?" she said from her room as she changed into comfier clothes. "I know, but I thought pulling you into the pool would be funny." he said, walking to her room and wrapping his arms around her waist. "as for the kiss, I just wanted to do that."
