a/n: this chapter will get a little spicy (if you know what I mean)
Evelyn and Spencer had stayed up a while longer, putting the final touches on the presents and watching movies until they fell asleep in evelyn's bed, Madison thankfully only crying once throughout the night. Evelyn woke up to the sun beaming brightly in her face, making her groan and bury her face in Spencer's chest, her eyes still closed. Spencer laughed softly, running his hand through her hair. "what's so funny?" she asked as she looks up at him. "nothing." he smiles, leaning down and kissing her softly. they hadn't made anything official just yet because one: they didn't want to rush anything and two: co-workers aren't really supposed to date at the BAU (even though Penelope and Kevin did). Evelyn smiles and kissing him back, pulling away and groaning as Madison began to cry. Evelyn stood up and picked up Madison, bouncing her gently. "I'm gonna go change her." she said, Spencer nodding as she walked to the nursery. she quickly changed, fed and burped her before heading back to the room, Spencer still in the bed. he held out his hands, Evelyn handing Madison to him as she laid back in bed, resting her head on his chest/shoulder. Spencer laid Madison on his chest, the baby almost immediately falling asleep. "how'd you do that?" Evelyn asked, sitting up and looking at him. "do what?" he asked, confused. "get her to fall asleep so fast." Evelyn said. "I dunno, she's just a daddy's girl I guess." he said. "well I mean as close to a dad as she has. well I uh-" Spencer awkwardly stutters. Evelyn laughs and smiles softly. "she really is. a daddy's girl, I mean." she says, fine with him taking on that role. she lays back down where she was, one hand placed on Madison's small back, the other playing with Spencer's hair. they laid in a comfortable silence before Evelyn broke it. "thank you." she says softly. "for what?" Spencer asks, looking down at her as she looked up at him. "for being there for me this entire crazy journey, letting me move in with you for a while, practically taking on a father role to a kid that isn't even yours, being my friend, basically everything." she says. Spencer smiles softly. "I wouldn't have it any other way. I didn't ask for this" he said, motioning to Madison. "but i'm not complaining, and there was no way in hell I was going to let you do this alone." he says, Evelyn smiling softly. "you know she's gonna end up calling you dad and think you're her dad when she gets older." Evelyn said. Spencer nods. "I know, but frankly, I don't care. I rather have her think I'm her dad and call me dad than her actual father" he says softly. "that's true." Evelyn said. "c'mon, we have presents to unwrap." Evelyn said, trying to lighten the mood as she got up. "do you count?" Spencer asks playfully. "Spencer Walter reid!" Evelyn whisper shouts, stopping in her tracks and play hitting him as he got up, careful not to disturb the still sleeping Madison in his arms. "what?" Spencer asks as if he asked the most innocent question ever. "maybe." Evelyn says before rushing out of the room and down the stairs. Spencer raised and eyebrow, walking down the stairs immediately spotting Evelyn, who looked like an elf on. the shelf under the tree, holding a present. Spencer chuckled softly, setting Madison in the baby swing that was in the living room and turning it on so she stayed asleep before walking over to Evelyn. "merry Christmas!" she said enthusiastically as she held out the present, Spencer taking it and unwrapping it, revealing a framed picture, the picture Penelope took of Spencer, Evelyn and Madison in the hospital when Madison was first born. "you're joking." Spencer said, handing her a present, Evelyn carefully unwrapping it, revealing it was the exact same thing she had given Spencer, just a different frame. Evelyn smiles softly, looking at Spencer. "great minds think alike." she smiles. "yes they do." Spencer replies, smiling as well. they continued exchanging presents, switch to open presents they got for Madison once she woke up. she fell asleep once again when they were done, one present, one for Evelyn, being left. Spencer grabbed it and handed it to her, Evelyn carefully wrapping it, revealing a box. she looks at him confused. "open it." he said. she did as she was told, revealing a beautiful stone ring.

Evelyn stared at it; "it's beautiful." she said. "just like you." he says. "classic." Evelyn laughs. "it's a promise ring. it has a saying on the inside." he said, reciting it from memory. "just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly." he said, Evelyn smiling. "I love it, spence." she says. she takes it and tries putting it on every finger, the only finger it fitting on being her left ring finger. (cliché, I know) Evelyn immediately looks up at spencer. "that's convenient." he says. Evelyn laughs softly, kissing him softly. "thank you. I love it." she smiles. they soon cleaned up, eating a big Christmas morning breakfast, before they went upstairs, Spencer taking Madison this time to change, feed and burp her, putting her in the bassinet next to the bed once she fell asleep, which knowing her, didn't take very long. Evelyn had the tv on, flipping through channels trying to find something that peaked her interest. "I still have one more present." Spencer said, Evelyn rolling over of her back to look at him. "which is?" she asked. "you." he said, jumping on top of her, attacking her with kisses. Evelyn laughed as he did, Spencer stopping once he got every inch of her face, hovering over her. "hi." Evelyn said softly. "hi." Spencer replied, his voice just as soft. Evelyn eye's could help but continuously switch between between Spencer's eyes and his lips, Spencer getting the hint and kissing her. as he kissed her he slipped a hand up evelyn's sweater, feeling her body. she didn't mind at first, until he began to get closer to her scars. she put her hand on top of his, stopping him. "spence." she said, a hint of something he couldn't quite place in her voice. he pulled his hand away immediately, not wanting to make her uncomfortable. "w-we can stop." he suggest, slightly awkward. "my scars." she practically whispers. "what about them?" he asks. "I-" Evelyn begins to say, looking away from him, embarrassed. she sighs softly before speaking. "I don't want you to see, or even acknowledge they're there because I-" she says, cutting herself off. Spencer was very patient with her, waiting until she was ready to finish her sentence. "I don't want you to think i'm weak or ugly because of them." she admits, still not looking at him. "you, Evelyn Nicole jones, are one of the strongest women I know. don't you doubt that for a second. your scars make you even more beautiful than you already are." he says, caressing her face. she sighs softly, looking at him before taking off her sweater, leaving her in her bra (on top at least) and revealing her scar. Spencer didn't bother looking, he knew he wasn't going to view her any different. "you can look." she says softly. "I know." was all he said, his eyes lingering on hers a while longer in case she changed her mind before looking at her scars. "see, there's nothing wrong with you, you're absolutely beautiful." he said, Evelyn nodding before he kissed her softly, feeling her body again. he slowly went to where he was when she stopped him, pausing for a while incase she wanted him to stop. "its okay." she whispered against his lips, Spencer softly going over them, his hand dragging up her body, resting it on the side of her neck as he kissed a trail from her lips to her neck, immediately finding her weak spot and sucking harshly. Evelyn inhaled sharply at the feeling, her hand tangling in Spencers. once there was a dark hickey he pulled away, taking off the Christmas sweater he had on. Evelyn immediately admired his body, her hands roaming his body as he roughly kissed her. he kissed down her body, stopping where her leggings started. he looked up at her for approval, quickly taking them off when she gave him the green light. "is it bad that I've thought about this before?" she asked, as Spencer drew circles on her inner thighs, sucking in a sharp breath every time he got close to where she wanted him most. "thought about what?" he teased, knowing exactly what she meant. "you-" she said, getting cut off by their phones going off simultaneously, meaning they got a case. "nooo." Evelyn groaned, Spencer laughing at her reaction. "can't you just be late?" she asked wrapping her arms around his neck as he hovered over her, still feeling her body, teasing her by going over where she wanted him most and her breasts, lingering a few seconds before moving his hand to another part of her body. her eyes fluttered shut when he did it the first time, sucking in a deep breath each time after. "please." she whispered, meaning both be late and and go back to where his hand just was. "listen I'd love to, I really would." he said, pulling his hand away altogether, Evelyn whining softly and opening her eyes at the lost of contact. "but?" Evelyn says, feeling it coming. "but, we're meeting on the jet." he says. she groans and buries her head into the pillow. "where?" she asks, her face still buried in the pillow. "California." he says, changing into work appropriate clothes. she groaned again and looked at him. "can't they just go without you?" she asks. "unfortunately no." he says as he goes to the bathroom, brushing his teeth for the second time that day (it was only 1pm) and fixing his hair. "I'll be back soon. I promise." he says, kissing her softly. Evelyn kisses him back, pouting once he pulled away. "you better." she pouted. "I will. bye, love you." he said before walking out.
