Jay's POV
"Come on Jay," Hailey whines next to me in the lockerroom. I slam my locker shut and make my way to the bullpen. Unfortunately Hailey keeps following, waiting for me to answer her question. "Jay, come on, you can tell me," she says behind me.
She's been nagging me all morning since I've set foot in this building to tell her what I was up to yesterday. Obviously, I was all day with Annabelle, but I don't think it's so important to tell Hailey. I know that Hailey would then nag Annabelle the whole time about the situation, and I don't want that to happen. I already won a little bit of trust from Annabelle, and I don't want to ruin it so easily. When I reached the bullpen Kim stood up and walked over to Hailey.
"Did he tell you yet?" She asks Hailey.
"No, he didn't," Hailey replied while glaring at me. Both of them stood next to each other with crossed arms glancing between each other and then me. A small smirk crossed their faces.
"I didn't think he would have it that bad," Kim says to Hailey.
"Mhm, now all of a sudden he's keeping secrets from his ex partner. Usually he would come running to me with news," Hailey replies, still staring at me with crossed arms.
"What are you talking about?" I ask them as I sit down at my desk.
"Oh, he's got it real bad," Hailey says, to Kim again.
"He's got what bad?" Kevin asks as he enters the room and head to his desk. The girls give him a look and his facial expression changes from confused to an understanding one, "Oh, I see what you're talking about. Yeah man, you got it real bad."
"What are you guys talking about? I have what bad?" I ask throwing my hands in the air. I know they just want to annoy me, and lucky them, they got it right.
"My man, you've been smiling all day now. You even got Platt confused when she threatened you and you just walked away with a smile," Kevin says leaning back in his chair.
"Did Platt threaten me?" I ask confused. I remember talking to her, and she mentioned something about Annabelle and then from there on I zoned out of the conversation and thought about what we did yesterday and the jokes she made. Who new she could be such a comedian sometimes.
"See! See! There it is," he says gesturing to my smile that I didn't know I had. "And you didn't even hear Platt talking. Where the hell is your head?" Kim and Hailey giggled.
"Jeez, it just gets even worse," Hailey says chuckling.
"You're really starting to irritate me now," I say irritated. "If you really want to know that bad, I went with Annabelle to the stables yesterday," I finally give in. So much for earning her trust.
"We know," Kim says shrugging.
"You what?" I ask shocked.
"We already know you went to the stables with her," Hailey chips in.
"How do you know that?" I ask again.
They both give me a pointed look, before Kim spoke up, "You do know we're girls right? And so is Annabelle too."
"She couldn't stop talking about the little adventure," Hailey says.
"Where did she take you?" Adam asks. I hadn't noticed him in the room before, until now. "She has a lot of spots for different occasions. So where did she take you?"
"The waterfall," I reply calmly. Kim and Hailey both widen their eyes and glance at each other.
"The waterfall?" Kim asks and I nod.
