"Jay, no!"
"Anne, yes!"
"Jay, you don't understand," I whine, rubbing my temples. "If my parents find out, they're going to give both of us a hard time."
"I'm prepared for it," Jay says adamantly. "I've been in far worse situations than being interrogated by my girlfriends father. Plus, everyone loves me who's to say your father won't?"
I give him a look. Trying to ignore the butterflies in my stomach when he called me girlfriend. He is so adamant to tell everyone that we're dating. I get it, I am excited too, it's just if my parents find out...
What could possibly happen though? I mean, this is my life. I make my own choices now. It's not like they would abandon me or something. Yes, my father would be the protective dad he is, and will pretend to hate Jay at first. But I think they both might actually be happy for me.
Especially mom.
"Fiiine!" I sigh. "But I will tell my parents myself."
"Or, we could do it together?" Jay suggests. "Over a dinner or something. We can tell your whole family together at once, then. That way if your parents really aren't happy about it, they'll kill us both," He was smirking at the last words, before he continued, "Or if they are happy for us, they'll cry tears of Joy with us. We'll do this together."
He grabbed my hand and kissed my knuckles, before entwining his fingers with mine. He pulled me closer and I scooted closer, before he threw the blanket over us as we both cuddled each other on the couch in my Livingroom.
It's quite cold now in Chicago. It'll probably start to snow soon. I'm really excited for the snow, even though I dread the cold. Snow means Christmas is around the corner and I LOVE Christmas.
"How are we going to tell the team though?" I ask, looking up at him. "Or even Sergeant Voight for that matter?"
"Can you stop overthinking?" Jay chuckles.
"I'm sorry, but it's a reasonable thought though. If we keep this from Voight, don't you think it'll-"
Jay cut me off by crashing his lips on mine and cupping my cheek. I kissed him back and wrapped my arms around his neck in the process. He wrapped his other arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him.
"We'll figure something out, eventually," Jay said, after pulling away for air. "Let's just focus on the now."
I nod, before he started kissing me again. This time it was a little more intense. More passionate. I lifted myself up and was about to straddle him, when someone knocked on the door.
We broke apart and Jay's annoyance was clear on is face. I started getting up, but Jay gabbed me and put his finger to his lips. Indicating to me to quiet down.
"Jay," I whisper.
"We're not here now, they can come back later," Jay whispered, keeping his grip around my waist.
"No, Jay, that's rude," I whisper back, while trying to free myself from his iron grip.
Knock! Knock!
"Come on, Annabelle," Jay pouts, making me laugh.
Knock! Knock!
"In a minute," I call out. "Jay, let go of me."
He huffs and pouts like a child and releases me. I walk over to the door with a smile and open it.
"Geez, how long does it take you to open a door?" Kim asks.
