Misaki's P.O.V.
After she had spent some time talking with Takemichi, Misaki figured it was time to head towards the usual meeting spot from her past with Kisaki. As she walked towards the familiar bridge of her childhood, she admired the setting sun and smiled softly to herself.
"Good to see some things haven't changed...Japan still has the best sunsets." She spoke lowly to herself.
As she came closer to the bridge, she could make out a figure laying rather casually in the grass next to the bridge, arms tucked behind their head as an impromptu pillow.
Misaki felt her heart quicken as she remembered everything Takemichi told her about Kisaki. She knew that he could be cunning, sneaky, even cruel...but a murderer? It wasn't something she could even imagine. But, she knew it was true, and it would happen, sooner than later unless they...unless she stopped it.
"Oi, Kisaki." She stated, sending him a small wave. He turned his head to look at her and nodded in acknowledgment.
When she finally walked up next to him, she copied his position and laid on the ground, shifting until she was comfortable.
She sighed, and closed her eyes. For just a moment, she wanted to pretend everything was okay. That she hadn't, in fact, been thrown back in time and addled with these new and strange abilities.
"So, are those some new friends of yours?" She then asked in an attempt to make small talk of some sort. She looked at him from the corner of her eye, awaiting his answer.
"I'm guessing you're referring to the older guys from earlier?" He spoke back, eyes not leaving the sky. She nodded.
"I wouldn't say they are friends. Just a means to an end."
She hummed at his response and reverted her attention back to the sky.
"It seemed like they were delinquents...didn't take you for the type to be involved in that kind of stuff." She stated, trying not to seem to obvious about her prodding.
A girl has got to be careful when it comes to Kisaki. He's too smart for his own good.
"Well, you're not wrong. They were..." He started.
"Although, it seems unfair of you to say so, considering you are one yourself, aren't you?" He finished, a slight smirk forming on his face.
Misaki's eye's widened slightly at his statement, before reverting back to normal.
"Ah, shit, you got me there." She muttered, a slight chuckle leaving her lips.
"But, I didn't think you had any interest in any of that kind of stuff? Just seems weird for you, is all." She said.
There was a pause between them for a moment, until she heard his voice speak. "Well, things change. I have certain goals I'm trying to meet, and this is a stepping stone towards those goals. Besides, it seems less boring than what I usually do."
She sighed softly and closed her eyes, thinking of the best way to word her next question without seeming too suspicious.
"Yeah, that's true. It definitely makes my life more lively." She started and laughed softly. She then shifted so that she was facing him, resting her head on her hands.
"What do you mean by goals, though? Like, a dream or something?" She then asked, a look of curiosity on her face.
He stared at her from the corner of his eye and she saw a smirk twitching its way onto his face.
Always smirking, this one.
"Why so interested? You usually don't ask so many questions, Misaki." He stated very matter-of-factly.
