Naglakad na kami papunta sa stage at si Light ay mukhang mas-excited pa sa akin, first time niya kasi mag-attend ng any awarding ceremony gan'on. Kaya pormadong-pormado siya ngayon, kanina pa nga kami pinagtitinginan.. Mukha raw kasi kaming mga kapatid lang ni Seve.
"Best in Math, best in English, best in Arts, most competent, and most studious," sabi no'ng MC. Ngiting-ngiti ako habang kinakamayan 'yong teacher niyang nagbigay, pinaghatian pa namin ni Light ang mga ribbon at medals at isinabit 'yon kay Seve. We smiled at the camera and walked off stage.
The two are skipping steps, they're just so happy.
And watching them be this happy makes me happy the most.
"Lettie, stand there, I'll take a picture of you two," utos niya.
"Light, masyadong ano 'to.. Ang dami na nating pictures, e," reklamo ko. He pouted sabay baba ng camera niya. "'Wag mo akong paandaran ng ganiyan.. " Warning ko at umiwas na ng tingin.
"Ito ang love language ko, Mommy.. " Maktol niya.
At the end, wala na akong nagawa kung hindi pagbigyan ang gusto niya. Seve and I posed for the camera, ang-OA niya at talagang nagdala siya ng isang DSLR, para tuloy kaming nag-hire ng personal photographer. He also took pictures of people in the venue and even took a video.. With those simple actions, you can really tell how passionate he is with his line of work.
Grabe, how can he love that much? I chuckled, maraming nag-pa-picture sa kaniya gamit ang camera niya, at ang high-grossing director ay sumunod lang sa mga request ng mga nakakatanda na natutuwa pa dahil gagawan niya raw 'yon ng Magazine.
Totoo nga, lahat ng ginagawa namin, Light always finds the way to make a magazine about it, personal lang naman pero kahit na, napaka-extra niya.
Halos kalahating taon na simula nang malaman ni Light ang tungkol kay Seve. But looking at them right now? Taking pictures and enjoying each other's company? It doesn't have any trace that they've been apart for years. They don't have this gap between them. They just.. Clicked, like that.
"Akala ko hindi ka makaka-uwi," I said honestly as I put rice on their plates. Ayaw kasing kumain ni Seve sa labas dahil lagi raw may nakasunod na cameras sa Papa niya at hindi siya nakakakain nang maayos. So we just decided to have take out food to celebrate his awards.
"Why would I miss my son's special event?" He snickered and placed a peeled shrimp and Sev's plate. "Ang dami niya kayang medal, Mommy," puri niya kay Seve. "Kaya kakain tayo ng maraming ube ice cream today, okay?"
"Of course!" Anunsyo ko at tumawa.
"Tapos ka na sa movie mo? Or matagal pa 'yon?"
"Matagal-tagal pa.. Though malapit na mag-premiere 'yong isa ko pang movie, sa LA 'yong premiere night, you want to come?" I shook my head.
