The light was dim and the air was warm inside the Potter household.

The house smelled of freshly baked cookies, butterbeer, and a Christmas tree.

It was currently Christmas Eve and the Marauders were in the Potter's living room sitting by the fireplace.

There was a charmed record player playing Christmas music in the background.

All five of them were munching on Euphemia Potter's famous chocolate chip cookies, as they were waiting for her to finish dinner.

"James, I love your mom's cookies." Peter said for what seemed like the hundredth time that night.

James laughed as he brushed some crumbs off of his fingers.

"They're so warm and mushy on the inside." He said while mesmerizingly staring at it.

Lyla looked at Sirius and they both started laughing.

"And the way the chocolate chips just melt in your mouth."

Remus laughed as he said,

"Peter, I think your in love with those cookies."

"I think I am too Remus."

"Kids dinner!" Euphemia called from the kitchen.

"Coming!" They shouted back.

They quickly made their way to the dining room and sat down.

"Holy shit." James said with his mouth watering.

"I know right." Fleamont said while staring at the food.

"James! Language." Euphemia scolded.

Both of his parents had simultaneously said that and as soon as the words came out of their mouths they both looked at each other.

"Fleamont, what did you say?"

He gulped.

"I didn't say anything, what makes you think I said anything."

Euphemia continued to look at him until she just sighed and looked down.

Fleamont then turned to James and whispered,

"This woman is scary."

"Eh, well you're the one who married her." James said with a shrug.

Sirius was about to grab some food before Euphemia stopped him.

"We still have another guest coming dear."

"Who?" Peter asked with a mouthful of food.

Fleamont opened his mouth but then the doorbell rang.

"Ooh, I'll get it!" Lyla exclaimed, getting up from her seat.

James stuck his tongue out at her and Lyla smirked in triumph.

There was a knock at the door again and Lyla muttered,

"Merlin I'm coming, this persons so impatient."

Lyla opened the door and was shocked to see who was in the doorway.

"Mhm, and you wonder where you get your impatience from."

"Mom?!" Lyla asked.

"No, it's a chicken." Emilia said sarcastically.

Lyla continued to stare at her mother in shock.

"Lyla darling, it's quite cold outside. I would very much appreciate it if you could move so I may enter."

Realization hit Lyla and she quickly moved out of the way.
