Luke's POV
"Hey baby!" I said as I walked out to greet Amber. I was now 15 and she was 14. I hugged her and kissed her cheek. "Wanna see if dad will let us go to the creek?" I asked. She nodded and said "yeah!"
I asked dad and he said "Alright but keep outta trouble." I just laughed.
When we sat down at the creek we decided to lay on the sandy bank. She looked at me and I knew what she wanted. "Any idea what today is?" She asked. "Uhh.. Yeah it's Saturday, isn't it?" I said. She looked at me with those big green, beautiful eyes and I laughed. "Happy anniversary darlin." I said. She playfully pushed my chest away and tried to escape my strong grip. "Aw no you don't!" I said tickling her. She eventually squirmed out of my grip and ran down the bank and waited till I chased her. She outsmarted me by moving out of the way when I ran after her so I got a mouth full of water. She jumped in after me. We held each other in the cold water staring into each others eyes. "Ya know I have a present for you?" I said. Her eyes lit up. "Where is it?" She asked. "It's back at the house in the barn." We ran back to the house soaking wet. When we got in the barn I asked her "Remember the guitar I got last year?" She nodded. I pulled the guitar out from under a tarp and started playing a song that I wrote for her.
You make me want to hold you like a hammock on a summer day
Tell you how I'm gonna take your cares away
You make me want to
You make me want to roll down the river and around the bend
Love you like a story with a happy ending
You make me want to

You can blame it on my southern boy ways
Why I'm always running away
I don't know if I can ever change
But you make me want to
You make me want to

You make me want to hang up the phone ride across town
Walk through you door and lay it down
Kiss you 'til you feel the truth
You make me want to

You can blame it on my southern boy ways
Why I'm always running away
I don't know if I can ever change
But you make me want to
You make me want to

Well I never met a girl like you
That's got me thinking like I do
To hang up my hat and kick off my boots
But you make me want to
You make me want to

You make me want to
Baby you make me want to

She hugged me so tight and said "Oh my gosh, Luke! That was amazing. I didn't know you could sing that good!" I smiled. Well, I've been practicing for about a month for this day. "Luke, I've got a present for you too..." She said. I looked at her and said "Oh yeah? Then what is it?" She laughed and walked up really close to me. I was wondering if she was going to hand me something. She leaned in and gave me our first kiss. It was long and slow so I grabbed her face and kept it going. When it was over I just stared at her and stumbled. She smiled and it felt like heaven just took me away. I couldn't believe what just happened and it took me a while to progress it all.

2 Weeks Later
Amber's POV
I loved kissing Luke like that! He just makes me feel so blessed! When I walked to his house,I saw him out front with another girl. She looked at me with an evil eye and had her hands all over Luke. It looked like he didn't mind. He turned around and looked at me so I turned around and ran to my house with tears in my eyes. He ran after me trying to stop me but I already made it to my house.
I was so mad that I came in and slammed my door to my room. "Woah there cowgirl! What's up?" Dad said when he walked in to check in me. I looked at him with tears still streaming down my face. "It's Luke." I said. Dad's face turned dark red. "What did he do to you?!" He said very angrily. "Dad it's nothing. I'm fine.. Don't worry about it." I said as I tried to stop crying. Dad stormed out of the room trying to cool off. I laid down and cried myself to sleep
Luke's POV
Some girl named Kelli (not my sister) came over real early that morning. "Hey country man!" She said as she walked over to me and rubbed her hand down my chest. I looked at her and pulled away. "Kelli, what are you doing here? I asked. She laughed. "To see you, silly!" I looked at her and in a confusing tone I said "Look, I don't like you. I never have! Your just one of those girls who thinks they can get every guy.. Well not this guy. Now leave me alone." She looked at me and said "Aww I love a guy who plays hard to get!"
I rolled my eyes and ignored her. I kept on working. She had her hands all over me! I looked up and saw Amber standing there crying. I tried to catch her but she was too fast. I walked back home kicking rocks and hating myself for not telling Kelli to go away.
2 days later
I was walking down the road to Amber's house when I saw her with a guy. He looked at me and let go of her. "Hey this is my girl! Get outta here kid!" He yelled at me. She looked over at me and her eyes were still red and puffy from her crying. She turned around so I couldn't see her face. "Amber! It wasn't how it looked like! I hated her touching me like that!" I shouted to her. She turned around and looked at me again but her "guy" made sure I went back home.
Amber's POV
Some guy heard about me and Luke fighting and knew I was available. He walked to my house and said "Hey girl, how about me and you go grab a soda?" I turned around and said "Umm no.. I'm really not in the mood." He grabbed my shoulder and squeezed it till it hurt. "Cmon babe, I'll buy!" He said. "No! I said I don't wanna go! Now leave me alone!" He looked at me like I was crazy and picked up a brick. He threw it at the wall and said "Amber! You are coming with me! No matter what you say." I was scared that he was going to hurt me because he had a history of abusing girls. Luke walked to my house and saw him with his arm around me. I wanted Luke to feel what I felt so I went with it. But after Luke was gone, I kicked the guy and yelled for daddy. He grabbed me by my hair and pulled me back to him. "Hey baby, I'm 17 and your 14, there ain't that much difference." He had his hand over my mouth and started dragging me back to a shed but daddy ran out with a 22 rifle. He shot in the air and ran towards the guy aiming at him while I was on the ground trying not to get shot. The guy ran off and dad missed every time he shot. I got up catching my breath and telling daddy what happened with Luke and that I didn't even know that guys name.
Luke's POV
When I saw her with that boy something sparked and I started writing another song. I walked to her house two days later and went to her window playing the guitar
I saw a truck backin' out of your drive
You were sitting in the passenger side
Messin' with the radio, you had your sun glasses on.
I pulled over cause I couldn't believe
Two weeks ago that was you and me
Riding down these old back roads, singing our songs
Now everybody round our town's been whisperin'
A tear in your eye says I should have been listenin'

Baby is someone else calling you baby
It's driving me crazy
This bein in the dark
Goodbye ain't never easy
So break it to me hard
If you're over my love girl
Lay it on my heart
Don't try to save me
Is someone else calling you baby?

You wanted time and you wanted your space
So I backed off, did whatever it takes
Never really thought you were that ready for moving along
Now I ain't leaving till I hear you say what's going on
It'll be what it will be, its either him or me
Give me the word and girl I'm gone

Baby is someone else calling you baby
It's driving me crazy
This bein in the dark
Goodbye ain't never easy
So break it to me hard
If you're over my love girl
Lay it on my heart
Don't try to save me
Is someone else calling you baby?

No Goodbye ain't never easy
So break it to me hard
If you're over my love girl
Lay it on my heart
Don't try to save me
Is someone else calling you baby?
No, don't try to save me
Is someone else calling you baby?
Is someone else calling you baby?

She looked at me and came outside so I could explain the whole thing.
"I'm so sorry,Luke!" She said trying not to cry. I hugged her and kissed her head. "I can see why you thought that though.." I said. "You better get back home Luke." She said smiling again.
It was so great seeing that smile again. I couldn't stop thinking about her the whole way back home.
