Amber's POV
It has been three days since I had Sadie and Thomas. We were all back home. Luke and I finally fell asleep and it only felt like 30 minutes later I heard one cry. I turned to Luke as he barely opened his eyes and said, "Your turn." He groaned and got up. When he went in there I was almost back asleep and then I heard another cry. I kinda laughed and got up to help Luke.
Luke picked up Sadie Grace and I got Thomas. I could tell right away that we have a daddy's girl. She immediately stopped crying. I looked at Luke as he was smiling down at Luke and said, "You know? You can make anybody stop crying if you pick them up! It's not fair." He started laughing. Thomas finally calmed down and went back to sleep. We went back to bed and finally got back to sleep. It feels like Luke tries to choke me when I go back to sleep. His grip is so tight around me. I just fell back asleep and when I woke up I knew the babies were awake. I tried to get up and I couldn't move again. I turned my head to Luke and said, "I'll make waffles this morning." His grip immediately loosened and I laughed.
I went to check on the babies and they weren't crying. Just laying down. Luke walked in and said, "Where's my waffles?" We laughed and then Sadie heard his voice and started making noises. He looked at her and she started laughing. "Wow, you must look pretty funny for a two day old baby to laugh at you." I joked and there we went again. He started laughing and I was leaned on his shoulder still laughing. Luke picked up Sadie Grace and started copying the noises that she was making and it made them both laugh. He picked up Thomas and had both of the babies laughing. He's gonna be such a good daddy!
I went to the kitchen and started making the waffles I promised. When I got done Luke came in and started eating. Sadie and Thomas were still in their cribs and quiet as could be so I went in there every two minutes to check on them.
Luke finally got finished eating and came to help me feed Sadie and Thomas.
Luke's POV
I picked up Thomas and fed him. He was like a little pig. "Just like daddy." Amber said smirking at me. "Oh ha ha ha." I responded sarcastically.
She laughed and put Sadie back down. Thomas was already asleep and Sadie was about to go to sleep. I stayed home while Amber went to school so she wouldn't have to be put off for a degree.
The babies slept all day until my nap time. They must have known I was going to sleep so they wanted to ruin my nap. I laughed to myself. I picked both of them up and fed them. It was hard but I got it done. Then I smelled the diaper. "Oh come on..." I mumbled under my breath and changed both of them. I walked out and was about to crawl in bed then I heard the door shut. Amber's home! Thank God!
She walked in, checked the babies, and plopped down in bed. "Arggggh..." I heard her say. "What's wrong?" I asked. She told me about her day and how she was tired all day and just needed some rest. I got up and let her sleep. I was really tired but she was more important to me than I was. I went and sat on the couch and I rested my eyes but never went to sleep. One of the babies started crying and I heard the bed creak. "I got it!" I yelled to Amber so she wouldn't get up. I took care of the babies and made some supper for us when she woke up. I made her favorite. Lasagna.
She woke up and came in the kitchen and hugged me. "You're so sweet!" She said. "What?" I asked confused. I didn't even realize all the things I did for her.
I smiled and said, "Anytime, but you gotta help out too." I was joking. If she was too tired to get up then that's fine with me. As long as she gets some rest.
