Luke's POV
This dumb rumor started up about me and fans were going insane! My Twitter feed was blowing up and people kept on asking me questions! I looked on YouTube for a good video but none were at the right angle. Then I heard a knock at my door and I knew it was a reporter. I opened it slowly and saw a newscaster and the little 8 year old girl standing there with my hat on backwards. "Mr Luke." She said as she pointed out to the crowd huddled up in the hotel hallway. "Why do these people think you're bad?" She asked. I shook my head. "I don't know, darlin but I sure am glad you came back." I said to her. She wrapped her arms around my legs and started bawling in them. I got so confused and asked her what was wrong.
She shook her head and just held on to me. Her dad walked through the crowd and picked her up. "Her mother had cancer just like her." He said. My heart sank. "She didn't make it through tonight." He finished, trying to stay strong. I shooed the reporters off and invited them inside to hang out for a while. I asked Amber to take the little girl into a room so I could talk with her dad.
Amber brought her into the bedroom. The little girl played with Amber's hair and she loved it. I shut the door and sat on the couch with her father. "Emily has cancer, if you couldn't tell, and she lost her mother to it last night." He said. I didn't know what to say, and he went on. "The doctors said that she only has a few more months to live, so I wanted to take her to her idols concert." He said again. "I think I have an idea." I said. Her dad wiped his tears away and I grabbed my guitar. I started to strum it and I called her name. She walked in and sat beside me.
I started singing a song to her and she scooted closer. She leaned her head on my shoulder while I sang and I couldn't help but smile.
I sang multiple songs for her like:
I See You
Country Man
Rain is a Good Thing
Play it Again
and All my Friends Say.

She loved all of them and sang along. Her dad smiled at me and clapped.
I sang all of the songs that she wanted me to and her dad thanked me. "Mr. Luke? You are the best man on earth!" She said staring up at me. I laughed and gave her a big hug. She gave me something that I could never forget. She gave me one of her rubber bracelets that she got from the hospital. I wore that everywhere and so many people questioned it. As soon as they left, my phone started ringing. My mama was calling, saying that the rumor had spread to the Leesburg news and to the Nashville news. We talked about it for a long time and I looked at my watch. "Oh my gosh! It's time to go." I said, while throwing on a different pair of jeans. Amber was already ready and I tried to get dressed as fast as I could.
We got in my truck and drove all the way to my concert. I had to come in through the back and do a meet and greet first. As soon as I got through with that and I heard my music start playing, I knew the party had just begun.
