Mama's Gone

Amber's POV
I decided to stay home and rest for a while before going to see Luke. Dad walked in not talking to me. "What's wrong daddy?" I asked. He looked at me with a tear in his eye and said. "Your mom...." He couldn't finish the sentence. "Dad? What happened to mama?" I asked again. "Sh-she was hit by a car." He finished. I looked at him. "Where is she?" I asked crying. "She's gone,Amber." He said with his face in his hands. I dropped to the floor in tears. "Why would they hit her? What did she do?!" I screamed. "It was an accident,Amber. They dodged a squirrel and hit her." Dad said still crying. "A squirrel?! A fucking squirrel?! Why would they dodge a squirrel to hit her?" I yelled. "Amber Gayle Garrison! Watch your mouth!" Dad yelled at me.
I ran to my room in tears and decided not to go to Luke's house. I heard a light knock on my door. I said "Come in." I was still in tears. Luke walked in and saw me. He ran to me. "Baby? What's wrong?" He asked. I told him the whole story and he started crying with me. "I'm so sorry! I wish I could do something to help." He said kissing my cheek. I hugged him tightly never wanting to let him go. He didn't let go until I did. Which was about five minutes. When we let go I could see him crying still. I wiped his tear away at the same time he wiped mine. "Do I need to stay here with you baby?" He asked. "I will do anything for you!" He added looking into my eyes. I nodded. "Just a little while longer?" I asked. "Anything you need, baby girl." He said flashing that smile. Even though I was depressed, that smile can make me smile any day and any time. "Luke, I've been thinking it over early and I do want to go to Nashville with you. Dad said that he isn't going to be doing much around here and my brother can help out." I told him. He smiled really big and picked me up hugging me again. "Thank you so much!" He said. I half smiled and hugged back.
