First Birthday

Luke's POV
Time flew by, with all the concerts and other things. Thomas and Sadie were already one years old today. I knew what I was gonna get him but I didn't know about Sadie. I walked into the living room and Amber looked up at me. "Did you get the presents?" She asked. I shook my head. "I don't know what one year old girls like! Princesses? Dolls? Mermaids?" I said. Amber laughed. "No, she's different.. Not a girly girl, she's a tom boy like I was." She said. "And tom boys like??" I asked again. "Boy stuff!" She laughed. "What did you like when you were younger?" She asked. I shrugged my shoulders. "I'll wing it!" I said.
I got in my truck and went to town. Thomas's present already came in the mail. I wouldn't let Amber see it because I wanted to surprise her too. I saw a toy store and decided to stop there.
I went to the boy section and saw a bunch of stuff but none of them was something that she would like. An idea crossed my mind and I went to Cabela's.
"Aha!" I whispered to myself as I saw the perfect gift. It was a little toy bow, two toy pistols, a badge, and a toy shotgun. I went to the checkout and bought it. "Oh my gosh!" The lady at the counter said to me. I looked back up at her. "You're Luke Bryan!" She said as she rubbed her face. "Oh.. Yeah." I laughed because I totally forgot that I was famous. She was like a super fan. Knew everything about me! "I love you so much!" She said. I laughed and got a picture with her. I also signed an autograph for her.
I sped home so I wouldn't miss the party.

Amber's POV
"Where is he?" I mumbled to myself as I wrapped the box that came in the mail for Thomas. Luke's parents and my dad already were here and the only person missing was him. Luke also wouldn't let me see what was in the box and it made me anxious to see it.
I saw Luke speeding down the drive way. He got out of his truck and ran inside. "I'm here- oh hey mama." He said as he waved at his mom. Luke wrapped the gift for me and went to get the babies. He took the box in there with him.
Five minutes later and I heard him yell. "YEE HAW!"
He came running down the stairs holding Thomas. Thomas had on a little bull riding vest, a cowboy hat, jeans, spurs, a belt with a big buckle, and gloves.
"Luke? Is this the same thing that we got you for you're third birthday?" His mama asked. He laughed and nodded. "Yes ma'am. That's why it's so big on him." I laughed and picked him up. Thomas was showing out in those jeans. "Kelly mailed it to me." Luke said.
Luke went back up to get Sadie and he came back down. Mr. Tommy had Thomas and was playing with him while Sadie opened her present. Her eyes got huge and she squealed. "Pow pow." She said as she pretended to shoot things. We all laughed and let them play.
"I've got some big news." Luke said as he stood up. We all listened. "Someone called me yesterday, and they wanted to sponsor me.... For a tour." He said. His mama and daddy got really excited but I knew what that meant. "So, you mean.. You're leaving?" I asked as I scooted closer to my daddy. Luke slowly nodded. "Yeah, I really want you to come but you have school, the kids, and the animals." He said sadly. I just nodded back and went into the kitchen.
I started to tear up, just thinking of Luke not being here. I felt someone touch my shoulder. "Amber, are you alright?" Luke's mama said to me. I nodded and wiped the tears away as fast as I could. "Yeah, just fine." I said, trying to hide my sadness. She made me turn around and she gave me a big hug. "It's gonna be okay. Luke will be back." She said. "Yeah." I said and I hugged her back. We walked back into the living room and I didn't look at Luke but I knew he was staring at me. Our family left after about three hours later and I just sat down, not saying a word.

Luke's POV
What did I do?! Why did I accept that offer?!
"Look, Amber, I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have told y'all like that!" I said. She turned to me and gave me a big hug. "It's okay. I'm happy for you! You are living your dream and I don't wanna stop you from that." She said. "No baby! You're not stoping anything. Just tell me if you want me to stay and I will. These dreams can wait. I know you have a lot going on here too." I said to her as she let go of me.
"I don't know. Luke, this is your main dream! I can't control you, like you're a puppet." She said. I nodded. "Well, I want it to be your choice." I said and she looked back down.
