Just a Good Mood

Amber's POV
I was coming home from work in my new/old truck. It was an old rusty Chevy and I actually liked it. Luke's truck was big black nice looking Chevy. Of course he got it because he made the money around here. When I become a vet then I could make some money too but for now I'm a stay at home mom that goes to school from 7:30 to 3:00.
Luke walked in and I looked at him. "Well it's mighty early for you to be up on a Saturday." He laughed. "You try going back to sleep once you have a dog licking your face." He said in that deep morning voice. I looked at his bed head and laughed. "Did a cow lick you too?" I asked. We both laughed.
The babies woke up too. I started to walk towards them to pick them up and Luke stopped me. "Whup whup whup... Where do you think you're going?" He asked starting at me. "Umm..going to feed the babies." I said in a confused way. "No.. I'll do that. You stay here and finish those waffles." He said. I laughed and finished the waffles.
He brought both of the babies in and they fell asleep in his arms. "Hey, I think I'm getting the hang of this baby thing." He whispered. I laughed again. Luke was in such a good mood today and I didn't know why. He was making me laugh so much. I know that's normal but today he has been on fire.
I sat at the table and Luke put the babies back in their cribs. He sat down and started eating. "Mmmm.. Blueberry?" He said with a full mouth. "Yeah." I said still laughing.
What is up with him? He ate fast which is also normal and then he ran to the TV. I followed him and watched him switch the TV on. He turned it to the outdoors channel.
"Okay Luke. You're extra helpful today, you're cracking jokes left and right, and you are running everywhere.. What's up?" I finally asked him. He got up out of his chair and walked over to me. "What? Can't a guy be happy?" He asked smirking. "Well yeah. But I've never seen a guy this happy. There's something up." I said staring him in the eye. "Nope. Just been a good day." He responded
I crossed my arms and looked at him. He raised one eyebrow and copied me. I could feel my face starting to smile. "Stop it." I said still smiling. "Stop it." Luke copied me using his cute girl voice. I threw a pillow at him and laughed at his voice. I just rolled my eyes and walked away. Of course he followed me. "Alright I'll stop." He said laughing.
He was so cute when he acted immature! That's just Luke for you.
It's been about three hours now and Luke was still bouncing off the walls. He walked outside and was humming to himself. I had both of the babies and I was watching how he danced everywhere. I was laughing at how he spun around everywhere. He went to the barn and said, "You know what? We need some horses and cows around here." I just nodded because I love horses and cows. Thomas started laughing when Luke came over to him and made weird noises in his face. "Alright. That's it Luke. Tell me what you're so happy about. There's gotta be something." I said. He laughed and said, "Okay. You got me! I'll tell you." He paused. "Today is the day I wrote you that first song and we shared our first kiss." I looked at him in the eyes and couldn't stop smiling. "I can't believe you actually kept up with that date! Why did you?" I asked. He took Thomas and said, "Because it was the day that I knew that we would be together forever! I knew nothing could part us but my stupid self decided to move here. I couldn't take it and I went back to stay with you and then you decided to come with me. I would've gave up my whole career for you!" I started to tear up and he tilted my chin up. "That's why I'm in a good mood, and nothing anybody did could change it." He finished. I couldn't take it. I kissed him and started crying more. Gosh how did he do this to me? How does he make me cry in a good way? How did he make me smile even when I'm annoyed. It just didn't make sense to me but I went with it anyways. I absolutely love it here! It's so amazing. I couldn't ask for more!
