Amber's POV
I got up and looked over at Luke. He was sleeping like a rock! I smelled something in the kitchen so I went downstairs and saw Luke's mama making waffles for us. I walked back upstairs and tried to wake up Luke. He didn't budge. "Luke... Wake up." I said shaking him. He let out one groan. "I don't want tooooooo...." He said. I rolled my eyes. "Not even for waffles?" I asked. Luke slowly lifted his head and pouted. "Please?" He asked pulling the covers over his shoulders. I just smiled and said, "Alright fine."
I went back downstairs and got Luke's plate and brought it back up to him. His mama walked in and stared him down. "Luke, you're so spoiled. She's ruined you!" She joked and then hugged me.
Luke continued to eat and I got the babies. Sadie crawled into Luke's chest and Thomas clung on to me. He motioned to go outside so I took him out to see the calves. Luke got up and dressed and followed me out while his mom stayed in. "There's something about that boy and farm animals!" Luke said. I smiled and nodded. "I love how he likes animals and doesn't wanna let go." I said.
Thomas was so gentle with the puppies! He didn't pull their tails or ears and he didn't try to pick them up. He just pets them and lays beside them. Luke laughed at me while I was trying to get Thomas to let go of Red. He crawled on top of her while her puppies were nursing and fell asleep. Red didn't seem to mind because she was the gentlest dog on earth.
I just gave up and sat down beside them. "I think I'm gonna go feed the animals." I said. Luke laughed and said, "Okay."
He watched Thomas while I went to feed.
Luke's POV
Amber went out to feed the animals and left me here to watch Thomas because she knew he wasn't letting go any time soon. I saw Red pop her head up and start to get up. I ran over to her but she was already up and Thomas still clung on to her back. A worried look grew on my face. I tried to pull Thomas off but he just cried and held on tighter which looked like it hurt Red. Red started walking and I held Thomas on her, trying to coax him off. "You got a good grip there, don't you, son?" I said laughing. Amber walked back in and saw me trying to get Thomas off. "Uh.. Hey Amber." I said rubbing the back of my neck. "Good weather were having.. I guess." I said again, standing in front of Thomas and Red. She smiled and her face immediately changed. I slowly turned around and I didn't see Red or Thomas. "Oh my gosh! Where did they go?" I yelled. Amber pointed and started running towards the kitchen.
