Chapter 55: The Hearing

I checked the time before I climbed back into bed, I was shocked to find that it was only 3:15 in the morning. I climbed back under the covers feeling an arm wrap around my waist immediately and pull me close. I I gave him a light kiss on the cheek before closing my eyes and falling asleep.

I was woken up the next morning by the sun coming through the window. I squinted and slightly glared at the annoying light before turning over and closing my eyes again in an attempt to go back to sleep.

It didn't work.

With an annoyed groan, I threw the blankets off of me before walking into the bathroom. Once my hair was brushed and I was awake a little more, I left the bathroom and went through the bedroom to head downstairs.

It was oddly quiet as I walked around the drawing room and living room. Finally I made my way to the dining room and found a letter on the table. I walked over and glanced at the signature to find it written by Draco. Curious, I picked it up and was surprised once again to find it addressed to me.

Sorry for not waking you up this morning and telling you, I wanted you to be able to sleep in a little bit.

Mother and Aviana received a letter from Kingsley that they are holding a hearing for Lucius at 8 this morning. The ministry wanted them to speak in front of the Wizengamot and tell them exactly what happened, when, and where. They were going to go alone, but I told them that I would go with them.

They are both going to be down on the stand and I may be put there too, my only thing is that I hope they don't need you up here as well.

I love you and will be home in a few hours.

I looked at the time. It read that it was 9:15 in the morning. That meant that they had been gone for at least an hour and a half. I walked into the kitchen and smiled when I saw that a cup of coffee was already made and sitting on the counter with a little note beside it,

I put a warming charm on the cup so it wouldn't go cold before you got up

I smiled and took the cup before walking into the drawing room. I sat on the couch and was halfway done with my coffee when the sound of apparation sounded in the foyer. I got up and walked out of the drawing room to see Draco going up the stairs rather quickly.

"Draco." I said and he turned around.

"I was just about to look for you in the bedroom. Did you see the letter on the kitchen table?" He came back down the stairs and stopped in front of me.

"Yeah." I nodded.

He pulled me into a hug before releasing rather quickly. "Something was brought up about him doing anything to any other girls and, being under the influence of veritaserum, Aviana threw your name out there and they asked where you were. Not able to lie because the potion was just beginning to wear off of me, I said you were at home so they sent me and a ministry worker to come get you."

"Where is the worker?" I asked.

"He is waiting outside. I apparated him here and told him he couldn't come in because I wasn't sure how you would react if you saw him and not me. I apparated inside so it was faster." He explained and I nodded.

"Ok, I'll go get changed real quick." I went up the stairs and into the room, through the bathroom, and into the closet to change. I pulled on a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a light blue shirt with a pair of tennis shoes to match.
