ADA'S POV

Hello, my name is Ada. I'm the youngest in my squad, as well as among my siblings. Despite the fact that my name sounds like that of a CEO, I have no desire to be one. I'm the type of girl that puts her profession first and lets her grades determine who she is. I've been an honor student since elementary school and when I was a second-year college student I'm also on the dean's list. Let's just assume my life is flawless and everyone's ideal fantasy, but little do they know, my life wasn't quite as perfect as it appears in movies and fairy tales. I get a lot of attention at school, but not at home; everyone is applauding and congratulating me, but my parents don't have time to deal with it.  Sabi nga ng iba, magaling ka pero wala kang kalinga ng mga magulang mo, mataas ka pero hindi ka sinusuportahan ng mga magulang mo at higit sa lahat, pinapansin ka ng iba pero hindi ang mga magulang mo. Pagod na akong makinig sa mga paulit-ulit nilang sinasabi, I always ignore those people and fight hard for my ambition to be a surgeon someday.

Bumaba ako pero wala sila Mom and Dad at tanging mga maids lang ang naroon. Oo, sa aming magkakaibigan ako lang ang kumpleto sa lahat, lahat ng gusto nasusunod pero ni minsan walang sumang-ayon sa gusto ko either magpakita man lang ng suporta para may bagay akong pinanghahawakan para lumaban. Umupo ako roon sa dining table, kumakain lang ng oatmeal habang naglilinis ng bahay ang mga maids namin---pagkatapos ay nagpaalam na ako sa kanila para pumasok sa university ko which is U.P Manila. Sumakay na ako sa kotse dahil ihahatid ako ni Manong Benjie papuntang university, nang makarating kami roon, bumungad sa akin ang mga matatalas at maruruming tingin na mga estudyanteng nasa hallway. Hindi ako sikat pero dahil kilala ang pangalan ko sa pagiging dean's lister pati na rin ang mga magulang ko kaya ganoon sila tumingin------my father's occupation is a CEO and my mother is another CEO in different group of companies. Habang naglalakad ako roon, may tumawag sa ngalan ko, ang mga kapatid ko. Si kuya Livius Phthonus at si ate Esha Livia, ang sasama ng tingin nila sa akin pero nakangiti lang ako sa harapan nilang dalawa.

"Ada, 'yong perang hinihingi ko? Nasa iyo na ba? Akin na!" Sambit ni ate Esha. "Ada, akin na!"

"Wala akong perang dala maliban sa allowance ko for this week. Marami ka kasing hinihingi kanila Mom and Dad kaya pati ang allowance mo ay naka-limit na." Sagot ko pero ngumisi lang si kuya Livius at lumakad palayo.

"Aba, pupunta kami mamaya sa bar dahil birthday ni Cheska tapos wala ako? No way, give me your allowances, ibabalik ko na lang."

"Now, you're going to the bar tapos ako ang hihingian mo ng pera? Gosh, ate Esha!" Angal ko, umamba siya na sasampalin ako pero pinigilan siya ni kuya Livius. "Lagi mong sinasabi 'yan, pero ni isa sa mga hiniram mo'y wala kang binalik sa akin ni isang sentimo. Bakit hindi na lang ang mga kaibigan mo ang hingian mo ng pera? I don't want troubles today, it's too early to start." Sagot ko at naglakad na palayo.

Pero hinila ni ate Esha ang buhok ko. "Napakadamot mo talaga! Pera lang naman 'yan, Ada. Manghingi ka kanila Mom-----" I slapped her right cheeks because of annoyance and anger.

"Pera nga LANG naman talaga ito para sa iyo, right? Never akong nanghingi kanila Mom, alam niyo 'yan tapos ako pa ang maramot? Ako ang nagpapagod tapos ibibigay ko lang sa inyo para sa luho niyo? Mas maigi nang tawagin akong maramot kaysa ako pa ang maging dahilan mo para pagbigyan kayo sa lahat." 

"Hoy, Ada! Humanda ka sa akin mamaya sa bahay."

"Lagi naman e, and in the end, ako ang pagagalitan kasi kinakampihan kayo." I chuckles bitterly. "How unfair this cruel world, isn't it? Tsk." Umalis na lamang ako at nagtungo sa classroom namin.

Third-year college na ako, ako ang bunso pero parang ako pa mismo ang nagmumukhang panganay. Lagi silang nanghihingi sa akin ng pera para sa luho nila. Nagpart-time job ako noon sa mga milktea shops at kalahati sa naiipon ko'y napupunta lang din sa kanila ni kuya Livius; kung ano ang ugaling kinalakihan, iyon din ang kinauugalian nila pareho, gosh. Pumasok ako sa classroom, bumungad sa akin iyong mga nagsisi-tinginang estudyante kaya umupo na lang ako at nagbasa roon.

Nang dumating ang professor namin, our first lesson for today is all about Anatomy. She was discussing it pero may advance written notes na ako simula no'ng nagkaroon ng summer vacation after ng previous school year. She discussed that Human Anatomy is made up of ten system such as Musculoskeletal system, Integumentary System, Lymphatic System, Respiratory System, Digestive System, Nervous System, Endocrine System, Cardiovascular System, Urinary System and Reproductive System. Habang nakikinig kaming lahat sa kaniya ay bigla akong tinawag nito for recitation kaya pumunta ako sa harapan at tahimik na tumayo roon.

"Integumentary system is the largest organ of the body and it has its percentage in equaling it for the total of body mass and it also acts as a barrier to agents." She stated. "How many percentage does it have to be to equal the total of the our body mass? And what agents does it acts as our barrier?"

I clears my throat. "It has fifteen to twenty percent to make it equal for our body mass and it also acts as barriers to physical, chemical and biological agents."

"What is skeletal and muscular system are? What are those diseases or disorders associated under this systems?" She smirked as my eyes widened.

Teka lang, mahaba-haba 'yon tapos iyon pa talaga ang tanong */sighed; Hay nako naman oh!

"Skeletal system supports and protect the body's internal organs. Diseases associated with this are Arthritis, Cancers, Scoliosis, Osteoporosis, Gout, Bursitis, Fractures, Break and Amputations." I sighed as I continue to speak. "While Muscular system, there are three muscles around it such as cardiac muscles. smooth or involuntary muscles and skeletal or voluntary muscles. Diseases and disorders associated of this are Muscular Dystrophy, Fibromyalgia, Tenditis, Multiple Sclerosis, Hernias and Muscles sprains and strains."

"You never disappoints me, Adallina. Go back to your seat." Sambit nito sabay ngiti sa akin kaya bumalik ako. "Kieran, what is Lymphatic, Respiratory and Digestive system are? Disorders and diseases under it?" Tawag nito kay Kieran kaya lumapit siya para magpaliwanag.

Kieran Finley Zalana, he is my boyfriend for three and a half years, kilala siya ng mga magulang ko and we're legal in both sides of our families. Siya iyong masasabi mong ideal man mo pero once na makilala mo siya, what you've just said will turn like a joke at all-----he's that man who loves playing girl little butts in short, bad boy. Pero hindi ko alam na sa lahat ng lalaki, siya pa rin ang pinipili ko kahit marami ng beses na mapapasapo na lang ako sa noo ko dahil sa pangga-gago niya sa akin but when we both turned as a third-year college students, wala hindi ko na nakita iyong pagiging tarantado niya. Well, I guess he changed for the better version of himself.

"Lymphatic system transports clean fluid in our body back to our blood and drains excess fluids and debris from the tissues and cells of the body. Diseases are Anemias, Leukemia, Tuberculosis of the lymph nodes and Hodgkin's disease. Respiratory system it is supplying the body with oxygen for cellular respiration, diseases under this is Rhinitis, Sinusitis, Laryngitis, Pleurisy, Emphysema and many more." He looked unto my direction and smiles. "Digestive system is responsible for breaking down and absorption of nutrients and eliminate the wastes. Diseases and disorders with this are Diverticulitis, Gastritis, Cholecytitis, Cirrhosis and many more. That's all."

"You did well again, Mr. Zalana." Sambit ng professor namin at pinabalik niya si Kieran sa kinauupuan niya.
