{Thirty-six}

"Pass the eggs please." Fred asked Ginny across the table during breakfast.

I hadn't taken the potion that morning, so I was trying not to touch anything out of fear of what could happen. Fred dumped a large spoonful of eggs on my plate, right next to the stack of pancakes which were completely drenched in syrup.

"We're going to Hogsmeade today Fawn, do you want to come?" Hermione asked lightly, not sure of my answer.

"I would, but i've got my thing with Tonks." I smiled lightly.

She nodded in response, unsure of what to do next.

I watched as Fred leaned over to place his hand on my thigh. Without realising it, I moved away a little, though it must have looked like I jumped out of my seat with how everyone was staring at me.

"I haven't had the potion today Freddie, sorry."

"Why haven't you had the potion?" George asked.

"Because we're gonna see what she can do." Tonks smirked.

I chuckled lightly at her comment, though the rest of the table seemed to have completely worried faces. Everyone appart from Remus and Sirius.

"Oh calm down you lot, it'll be fine. Enjoy your day out." She continued as she rolled her eyes.

"What are you going to do in Hogsmeade anyway?" I queried.

"Last minute Christmas shopping." Fred mumbled in a whisper so I couldn't hear.

"Speak up Freddie."

"Last minute Christmas shopping." He said louder after clearing his throat.

I laughed slightly, "Really? I got all your gifts weeks ago, you know, when you all ditched me?" I cocked an eyebrow and smirked. I couldn't help but still feel slightly hurt by their actions. I know it was my father now, but they could've told me sooner, I was going to find out eventually.

"You did have your Slytherins." Ron huffed.

"Not the point Ronald." I said sternly which caused Sirius and Tonks to chuckle a little in their chairs.

"Come on Fawn, let's get started shall we?" Tonks suggested as she stood from the table.

"Mind if I tag along?" Sirius asked.

"Course you can." I smiled.

"Alright, take my arm." Tonks said which caused my brows to furrow.

"Just going somewhere more open." She smiled reassuringly.

"I don't want to burn you." I said shyly.

She smiled kindly before lifting up her sleeve to reveal a dragon hide arm band. I smiled as I knew she was prepared.

I smiled to Fred as a goodbye before taking her arm. I was met with the familiar feeling, like I was going through a rather tight rubber tube. As soon as we had arrived in our new destination, I noticed we were in an open field, trees surrounded the space we were in, leaving a large rectangle of open grass which was coated lightly in snow.

"The burrow is just back there." Tonks said, pointing behind us and sure enough, I could see it in the distance, we weren't far away from the house.

"So, I suppose the first thing we need to do is figure out how far these powers stretch." Sirius began, "We know your skin heats up, you can burn things with one touch, we just need to figure out what else you can do. Then we will be able to help you learn how to control it."

I nodded, I couldn't manage to form any words. I watched as Tonks pulled out a few pairs of gloves from one of her pockets. She handed a pair to Sirius before putting a pair on for herself. Soon she handed me my own pair, they were a dark grey dragon hide, hers and Sirius' pairs covered their entire hand and fingers. Mine were fingerless and had buckles at the wrist.
