36. Slowly getting back up

2 days later
After Eli wakes up

"Ok now Elijah. Your going to feel a bit of pressure." The doctor stated as he started up the machine to get Elis heart rate. Elijah is getting a check up to see how he's holding up after him waking up from a 2 week coma. Eli laid in bed and just looked at the contract on his arm and just dosed off. The little Olsen hasn't really said anything in the past 2 days from waking up. He is still a bit shaken up by the car crash he was in. "Alrighty everything looks fine and normal again. How you feeling Elijah? Any pain anywhere?" The doctor asked him as he had a nurse take off the contraction off his arm.

Eli didn't respond all he did was stare off into space. "Elijah." The doctor called out to him again and snapped his fingers at Eli. The little Olsen jumped and looked at the doctor with glossy eyes "u-um..in sorry what did you say..?" He asked in his raspy voice. "I asked how you feeling and if you feel any pain anywhere. Are you ok?" He asked again. Eli looked at the doctor before he looked down at his hands "I-in fine..but my leg and chest hurts.." Eli said trying to blink away his tears. "Elijah. You don't have to keep your emotions in. Your in pain. You need to let your feelings out." The doctor stated. "I'm fine..w-when is my mom coming back.." Eli asked as he looked at the doctor with his glossy puffy eyes.

The doctor soon sighed and looked at the clock on the wall. "Your mother said that she'll be back within 40 minutes. And you asked me 10 minutes ago when she would be back." He stated. Eli stayed quiet and just blinked away his tears "I feel alone..I just want my mommy.." Eli said. The doctor soon just nodded at him "yeah I know. She won't be long. Just hang tight ok?" He said as he then started to walk out of the room. "A nurse will be back with your breakfast. Just try to eat something ok?" He said as he then left the room. Eli just watched as he walked out of the room, he then let the tears roll down his cheeks. "Momma.." he called out quietly before he let out a sob.

5 minutes later

Eli was now given some pain medicine for his chest and leg along with food that the nurse gave him. All the little Olsen had taken was the pudding cup and the toast that he had received along with apple juice. As he started to eat his breakfast he had the tv on, he was watching something on Disney channel but he wasn't really paying attention to it. All he was doing was dazing off into space while he ate. All he was doing was staring off remembering the crash, the crash that happened keeps on haunting him. And the worst part about it was that he would always see his fathers dead body right next to him.

Eli snapped out of his haunting hallucination when he heard the heart monitor starting to spike up. The little Olsen then put down the rest of his food and just pushed away the tray, he then just started to try to sleep it off and just wait for his mom to come back. But it didn't end up working for the past 5 minutes he tried to sleep, all he kept seeing and hearing was the crash. But he just decided to remember the fun times he had with his father along with his other family and friends and he ended up falling into a dreamless sleep.

20 minutes later

Eli was woken up to Lizzie rubbing his arm. As soon as he opened his eyes he did a slight jump but then looked at Lizzie. "M-momma?.." Eli called out as he felt tears in his eyes. Lizzie smiled down at him and kissed his cheek "Hey baby. You feeling ok?" Lizzie asked as she pulled the chair up next to Eli. Eli nodded "y-yeah. I'm just tired..I don't feel pain anymore.." "that's good." Lizzie said with a smile as she put her hand on Elis cheek. Robbie soon came in with a stuffed teddy bear "Hey Lijah." Robbie spoke out as he walked over next to Lizzie. Eli looked at him with a smile "Hi Robbie.." Eli greeted him.

Robbie then gave Eli the teddy bear and put his hand on Elis hand. "I'm glad your awake bud. You gave us all a scare." Robbie said. Eli did a little nod before he leaned his head on Lizzies hand still. "Get some rest baby..you look exhausted still.." Lizzie stated as she put the teddy bear next to Eli. "I want to go home.." Eli said in a hushed voice before he hugged the bear for dear life. "We know Buddy. We'll see how you are after you rest ok?" Robbie said as he went over and kissed Eli on the head. "We'll be here when you wake up. Don't worry Bubs." Lizzie said as she kissed Elis head as well. The little Olsen did a little nod before he finally started to feel at piece, he then started to slowly fall asleep. Lizzie and Robbie both smiled at him before they went ahead to go out of the room to go talk to the doctors and nurses.

4 hours later

Elijah soon started to wake up, as soon as he started to wake up he felt pain shoot up his body again. He let out a groan that let him to tear up "Mommy!..R-Robbie!.." Eli called out with pain in his voice. Robbie got up and rushed to his side and put his hand on Elis cheek. "Hey hey hey!.. I'm here your ok. Whats hurting?.." Robbie asked with worry in his voice. "S-stomach..c-chest hurts.." Is all managed to say before he gripped onto the teddy bear Robbie gave him earlier. "Ok ok." Robbie said before he pressed the cal button on Elis bed.

In about 3 minutes a nurse came in "Hello whats the problem?" The nurse asked. "My son he saying that his chest and stomach hurts!" Robbie blurted out as he tried to comfort Eli a bit. Eli cried out in pain and started to hold his stomach, the nurse rushed over to his side and started to go ahead and check Eli. She soon then started to look and Elis stitches to see if anything is wrong. "Ok nothing seems to look wrong with his stitches. Elijah what type of pain do you feel?" She asked as she looked at Eli. "P-pinching!.." Eli said with pain laced in his voice. "Ok I'm going to give you some pain killers. That's normal for this to happen. It means your healing now." She said as she then went and rushed out of the room to go get the medicine. "R-Robbie..I'm scared.." Eli said as he had tears roll down his cheeks. Robbie wiped Elis tears with his thumb "I know bud. Just stay strong. I'm right here with you." Robbie stated.

The nurse soon came back in along side with Lizzie who looked really worried. "Ok this medicine will make you sleepy soon. But it will help." The nurse said as she grabbed a needle with a small amount of medicine in it. Lizzie rushed over to Elis side next to Robbie and grabbed his hand "Im here now. I'm sorry I wants here Bubs.. I'm here now.."Lizzie stated. Robbie put her arm over her and had his hand on elis shoulder. Eli looked at the two adults before he looked over at the nurse, he then looked away from the nurse and just closed his eyes tightly. The nurse took this as the time to hurry up and give the medicine to Eli. Right after she got done giving eli the injection she put a bandage on it and walked out of the room.

Eli had tears in his eyes, he then looked over at Lizzie and Robbie. "You did so well!.." Lizzie said as she went closer to Eli and kissed his head. "Yeah you where so brave bud!" Robbie said. Eli gave them both a slight smile before he hugged the teddy bear tightly "that hurt..I just wanna go home momma.." Eli said as he sniffled. Lizzie did a little sigh and just rubbed us hand with her thumb "I know baby..but you have to stay here only for tonight then tomorrow we can go back home." Lizzie said with a little smile. "Yeah then we can watch all the marvel and cartoons you want back home in your bed." Robbie said with a smile. Eli nodded and just decided to try to get comfortable in the bed. "Ok.." Eli said in a somewhat hushed voice.

The two young adults could tell that the medicine was starting to slowly kick in. "Rest up lil man." Robbie stated as he then walked back over to the couch in the room. Lizzie was about to go but stopped "momma..?" Eli called out. Lizzie turned around and looked at her son "yes munchkin?" She asked. "C-cuddle..p-please..?" Eli asked in a tired yet sad tone. Lizzie smiled a bit before she nodded, she then walked back over kicked off her shoes and got on the bed with Eli. Elijah scooted over enough to where he and Lizzie where both comfortable on the bed. Once Eli knew that Lizzie was now in a comfortable position he immediately put his head against Lizzie and just cuddled into her for dear life. Lizzie felt relief wash over her, she then started to cuddle her son. It has been about almost 3 weeks since Lizzie wasn't able to hug or cuddle her son. So she felt better knowing she was able to cuddle her son right then and there. As Eli cuddled into Lizzie he felt himself slowly start to get his comfort back again, he also felt safer. He knew he wasn't going to get anymore nightmares when he napped knowing Lizzie was there with him. Eli started to then listen to his mother's heartbeat, he then felt Lizzie start to rub his back. He was at ease, he then slowly started to fall into a safe nightmare-less slumber.
