"Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you" they sang, following the beats of their clap.
The woman standing behind the table begun to shiver. She can't forget, she will never will. Until this day she blames herself. Then her vision started to get blurry.
2 years, that felt like a lifetime. Chained to a past that haunt her to sleep every night. A nightmare that woke her up each day.
"Make a wish!" The people cheered.
Giver her back to me...even for a second
She blew the candle and the nothingness consumed it. Taking away the light that has been melting the wax. She lifted her eyes to the crowd, and her heart break into thousands of pieces as she saw the face she's missing.
"Hon" she murmur, her hand covered her mouth when the woman smiled at her. Jennie's co-workers are staring at her stranged and worried.
"Lili" she called, but the woman dissapeared in the thin air. The brunette run her way where the woman was watching her earlier. Didn't care if she bumps other people. She just want to see her again.
When she saw her frame, she kept on trailing her. Jennie's little journey ended in the building's rooftop. Where the whole city exposes it's chaotic beauty.
"Baby, I know you're here...please show yourself. Just once Lisa, for a minute, for a second. I want to see you again!" She screamed her lungs out. Her tears flow like the river as the cold breeze embraced her ravage soul and ironically warming her.
She knows it was her, all those empty moments she felt alone. Her eyes opened and it the butterflies gone wild. Lisa is looking through her. Smiling as if she still the same old person. "Love, Happy birthday" unbelievably it whispered.
It wasn't a slice of cake Jennie wished to received. It was a slice of heaven.
As the free spirit placed her palm on the brunette's unchanged soft cheeks. Jennie straightaway fused with her.
"I miss you hon, more than life. I'm dying every day without you. I'm sorry Lisa...I'm really really sorry. " She bawled out.
"No one's at fault love. I love you Jennie. But it's time to let go of me" The woman said.
Jennie shook her head
"I can't...how? Tell me how Lisa?. I love you so much. Please come back to me...I'll promise I'll be a better wife." Jennie grumbled.
"Baby, I can't comeback. But I'll wait for you. In the right time we'll be together again." Her voice vanishes as the weather thaw.
