Jin's 1st Person POV
It's Friday, the end of the work week.
Ever since Y/N and I have confessed our love for each other last weekend, I have been feeling on top of the world. I never knew I could have her back in my life, but now she is. And, I'll make sure I'll never let her go like I did years ago.
Letting her go was the worst mistake of my life. I've learned my lesson.
I know that she is everything I want in a partner and I'll do everything to show her that I love her.
I haven't seen much of Y/N today since she was busy with her classes and had students in during her office hours. I tried to get her to join me for lunch but she said she needed to catch up on emails and work on her research. She said she would just eat in her office so she can get as much of her work done. I asked if I could join her for lunch in her office and that I would try not to interrupt her work, but she said she just needed to be alone so she could focus.
I sensed something was wrong but I didn't want to push myself onto her and bother her. I did text her, letting her know she can text or call me if she did needed me.
It's now 5pm and I allowed myself to finish up what I'm currently working on with my papers I'm grading and close up my office. Before leaving, I decide to check on Y/N in her office.
When I get to her office door, I knock a couple times.
"Yes, come in," I hear her voice speak out softly but it's projected enough for me to hear.
"Hey, everything okay?" I ask her as I enter her office. I can't help but notice how withdrawn she looks.
"Oh, hey," Y/N says, sounding a bit off.
"Seriously, is everything okay?" I ask as I settle in the chair across from her.
"Yes," she answers, but, with her tone, I am not quite convinced.
"You just seem a little out of it," I honestly tell her my observation.
"I'm just having a rough day, that's all," she breathes out looking forlorn.
"Is there anything I can do? Maybe we can go out to eat at one of yours favorite restaurants?" I suggest hoping that might cheer her up.
"I think I just want to head home and be alone tonight, Jin."
"Are you sure? You're worrying me," I tell her, concern painted on my face.
"Jin..." The look on her face makes me feel anxious.
"What is it?" I stare into her eyes. Her eyes look like they're holding back tears.
"I need some time," she says above a whisper.
"What do you mean?" My heart sinks at the words that came out of her mouth.
"Jungkook came over last night. I was going to break off the arrangement I had with him." She looks away from me and looks down at her desk.
